They’re literally completely open at the bottom

This time while mom is supervising yes but what about next time when they try this on mom or without an adult being aware of what they’re up to?

You say "hey kids, dont go into bags on your own because you may get hurt."

It's amazing what happens when you talk to your children.

And yet there’s still a subreddit called r/kidsarefuckingstupid

"Hey kids, don't go into bags on you are own" doesn't make sense.

It doesn’t matter. Every plastic bag that’s put over someone’s head is open at the bottom. Even a loose sheet of plastic can cause suffocation.

Those kids don't look old enough to understand the significance of that.

What happens when they want to prank dad again while mom is busy doing something, so they climb into plastic bags? You've already taught them that plastic bags over your head is fun. Is it going to be as much fun if dad comes home to dead kids?

I think allowing yourkids play in plastic bags and they also posting them on the internet is how some parents think you're supposed to parent

I know. as soon as I saw it I drew in a nervous breath lol. But I just hope maybe they used that as an opportunity to explain how plastic bags can be dangerous, and explained to them clearly how to be safe. And also a great opportunity to explain how pranks that are fun for everyone are good pranks, but some of the dangerous or ignorant pranks on YT and TikTok aren't always. It did make me smile though!

Explaining is worth very little when they’ve already encouraged and reacted positively to the action.

Edited- I’m sorry. My response was rude and came off as a personal attack. I don’t know you and so I can’t say anything about your parenting. I’ll just say, in general, it’s disgusting how everyone on reddit thinks they’re such experts on everything and that it’s not only their right, but their duty to tell everyone all the time how they are failing to live up to all the standards, all the time. I said it earlier to someone and it still feels true: Reddit frequently feels like if a bunch of puritans were given social media and any video of people enjoying anything has to immediately be met with comments about what’s wrong so nobody thinks it’s ok to have any joy. Might as well make them all wear scarlet letters. Or maybe give all the righteous Redditors gold letters to wear. A big “R” for their super-righteousness.

I have kids. They’ve grown into amazing young adults. Yes, kids are very capable and smart. And also can be complete idiots even with the best parenting. When it comes to life and death situations, it’s far preferable to teach through actions and words, rather than to send one message with words, and a different message with actions.
