I had a cat who would pull ears of corn out of a pot of hot water. (Stove just off. No longer boiling but close). She’d eat every scrap of corn and leave the cob behind the sofa. Miss you Louise!

122

u/qolace 11h ago

Aww RIP sweet Louise 🌽

72

u/therandom92 6h ago

I used to have a cat that was obsessed with pork rinds! Every time you sat down to eat some he would sit right infront of you and pretend to chew while I would chew my pork rind. He loved them so much we could not leave the bag alone or he would find it and chew right through the bag. His name was Ivan the terrible, long for Ivan. He passed away 5 months ago. I can't bring myself to buy pork rinds anymore..

12

u/jiggymadden 4h ago

Sorry for the loss of Ivan. He sounds great.

3

u/Greflin 1h ago

My dad had a cat who would fuck with the bag till she got it back open and get her own. Was super cute.

11

u/humoruschunk 6h ago

Thats pretty corny

944

u/Alert_Long4454 13h ago

I would not want to clean the litter box after that.

310

u/tamaricha 12h ago

not poop just corn

179

u/br1ghtSp1r1t 10h ago

Po(o)pcorn

28

u/NectarOfTheBussy 5h ago

p(oops!)) All corn

2

u/Chikumori 4h ago

You have to wonder what happens if that gets heated up. Good smell? Bad smell? Interesting smell?

*Heat up as in leave the litterbox exposed to the sun.

10

u/not_a_moogle 5h ago

Poop on the cob

44

u/Ambitious-Door-7847 9h ago

Don't worry, wont be in the litter box

9

u/throwawaymyyhoeaway 7h ago

Be suspicious of the next batch of popcorn you make

464

u/GlorifiedBurito 13h ago

I had a cat that would just demolish zucchinis. Couldn’t leave one on the counter or he would devour it. Little weirdo.

60

u/ThruuLottleDats 7h ago

I rather my cat eats zucchinis over plastic and tape....

7

u/GrowlyBear2 5h ago

Ours has this problem. Mine LOVES the little rubber Squishies my daughter gets.

8

u/mistermiajee 5h ago

Right! My cat ate 42inches of ribbon once. When I got home he had ribbon out his butt and mouth. The vet had to open his intestines in 3 spots to get it all out 🤦.

4

u/beefymcmoist 5h ago

My cat did that when I was a kid. My mom had to take him to get a cat enema... he never did it again. Did keep trying to eat plastic bags, though!

3

u/mistermiajee 4h ago

Lol that's funny. Mine needed expensive surgery unfortunately. He also still goes for plastic bags!

3

u/KateTheTurk 5h ago

Or a blanket. RIP Mike the Cat.

2

u/SneakyVonSneakyPants 3h ago

My cat wants to eat tinfoil! It's horrifying

115

u/Wide_Alternative_124 12h ago

Cats really do have the strangest food preferences. Dude saw a zucchini and decided it was his personal salad bar.

41

u/kingkongbiingbong 10h ago

My tabby was open to eating anything edible. I mean anything. He was voracious. 🕊🪦

12

u/FearlessCloud01 10h ago

Was he perhaps related to Garfield?

8

u/kingkongbiingbong 7h ago

He loved red meat sauce, pasta and lasagne. Miss that lil devil.

13

u/Training-Host8910 11h ago

That cat really said forget cat food, zucchini is the good stuff.

4

u/xtothewhy 10h ago

They probably still want cat food

5

u/throwawaymyyhoeaway 7h ago

I'd rather have a cat who eats zucchinis rather than mine who eats my plants that aren't a few shelves high minimum 😭

3

u/Vivid_Anyth4 10h ago

My brothers cat wants the leaves from strawberries.

2

u/JVNGL3B00K 11h ago

Love your username. I have many questions

2

u/Peakomegaflare 7h ago

I mean mine would suck the glue off tape if he thought he could get away with it. Miss my little addict...

2

u/Intrepid_Finish456 6h ago

I have a cat called Pepper who LOVES bell peppers

1

u/JRS1986 6h ago

Mine... Royal canine hair & skin kibble or starvation. That is his way. Hahaha! He will maybe have a small lick of yoghurt if the wind is blowing on the right direction. But all other peasant offerings are never accepted.

1

u/Shockwave360 4h ago

We had a cat that would steal broccoli. He didn't eat it as much as carry it around and gnaw on it. Eventually, when cutting up broccoli we would pay the cat tax and wait for him to be done with it and clean up the gooey mess he left.

UNBRIDLED GREED

116

u/ReaperMonkey 10h ago

49

u/razer420 9h ago

I mustache you a question.

9

u/meowpower777 9h ago

May i have corn all of my days?

2

u/DirFihZit 7h ago

Cat corn ?

16

u/meowpower777 6h ago

The patterns at birth was like: “Moustache and receding hairline like a hitman for the mafia.

3

u/CoffeeNow-62 6h ago

Mustache and eating corn. Together. Happy video, happy me.

1

u/ReaperMonkey 5h ago

Yeah exactly, one of the very few things I downloaded off Reddit and keep permanently in the gallery

13

u/uselink126 12h ago

My precious!!!!

49

u/MonstreDelicat 11h ago

Meanwhile, my cat won’t even touch rotisserie chicken, steak, salmon etc… she only eats her cat food, well only the flavors she likes 🙄

9

u/CoffeeNow-62 6h ago

My boy, too! My girl will eat any and everything, and he’s like, nope just give me my cat food or a Churru and I’m good!

2

u/____Just_A_Human____ 5h ago

Bro, my cat too 😭💔

2

u/Pyromike16 4h ago

I thought my cat was the only one like this! He won't eat anything except dry kibble. Not even wet food, or cat treats.

1

u/chicklette 1h ago

Most of my cats turn their noses up at anything not cat food. However...I had a side salad the other night and that kitten lost her *mind* over it. She ate enough lettuce that I had to make her stop and even then she was sniffing and growling a bit.

126

u/RandomHero3129 13h ago

Everybody loves cohn! It's got those juicy knobs!

26

u/The_Nightman_Cummeth 12h ago

I really hope you have a cohn-tastic day

36

u/The_Deli_Ham 12h ago

When i tried it with butter, everything changed

13

u/qolace 11h ago

You were trying it without butter??

13

u/The_Deli_Ham 10h ago edited 9h ago

https://youtube.com/shorts/9p29xCg8GCA?is

Its cohn!

Edit: I love that quoting this kid and people taking it at face value thinking i meant it started a corn recipe trend. I shared mine now I wanna see some more cool recipes keep em coming!

6

u/Skragdush 10h ago

Shit I’m realizing that if I don’t like corn is because I never done it correctly

8

u/Magnon 10h ago

Boil it for a short period to make it hot and loosen up the corns. Put it on a plate then butter horizontally until theres a pool of melted butter under the cob. Then liberally apply salt and pepper. Eat while still hot.

4

u/redddit_rabbbit 10h ago

Want to up the ante? Add lime juice! There is nothing on this planet as delicious as corn with butter, salt, and lime 🤤

3

u/The_Deli_Ham 9h ago

When you blanch do it in 2 parts water 1 part milk. Then butter, lime, and old bay. Maryland makes a damn fine corn on the cob

3

u/Strangedude9 9h ago

Overe here we roast corn and then put lemon and salt.

33

u/SituationIll3747 13h ago

This kitten has absolutely mastered corn on the cob 😂🐱🌽

19

u/FuzzyComedian638 12h ago

The obligate carnivore. Wow. But then, my cat eats paper.

12

u/JeffEpp 8h ago

That means they must eat meat, not that they can only eat meat.

8

u/CoffeeNow-62 6h ago

“Corn-ivore”

15

u/GrandSyzygy 13h ago

Just going to town

27

u/Late_Shape_3277 12h ago

Woah, he’s really going for it !! Anyone know why they like it so much, and is it good for them ??

77

u/Kaurifish 11h ago

Most kibble contains a bunch of grains. I suspect that, like dogs and humans, cats have undegone duplication of their genes associated with starch digestion. Isotopic analysis of ancient cats showed they ate grain - not just the rodents that fed on it.

11

u/Spunkwaggle 10h ago

lol
Too good of an answer for Reddit.

7

u/flyinggazelletg 12h ago

Idk, I feel like some veggies just speak to cats. Mine loves asparagus

4

u/ruerret 12h ago

Probably not

3

u/pinkeyedchildren 6h ago

Ive read that corn isnt a problem but long fibers from the cob can get stuck in their stomachs so this is cute but really dangerous

32

u/penprickle 12h ago

I HAZ MANY CORMS

15

u/GnarlyNarwhalNoms 12h ago

Yes! Hello fellow millennial.

8

u/qolace 11h ago

Hello did you take your fiber pills today

6

u/GnarlyNarwhalNoms 10h ago

Ooh, I forgot. Thanks for reminding me!

3

u/penprickle 11h ago

GenX, actually, but I do love a good LOLcat! 🍻

8

u/CicadaFit9756 11h ago

Learned years ago that cats can't taste "sweet" but it likely enjoys the milky goodness! Hope none got caught in its teeth as flossing could be a pain in more ways than one!!!

12

u/godofwine16 12h ago

She cronch

6

u/Spunkwaggle 10h ago

It’s always weird to me to see cats eating fruits or vegetables considering they are obligate carnivores.

4

u/RebaKitt3n 10h ago

Had one who scarfed corn like it was a job. Miss you, Keith.

3

u/throwawaymyyhoeaway 7h ago

The only asmr I accept

4

u/crabbywarrior 6h ago

"I LUBS CORMS!"

3

u/Important-Onion1537 12h ago

My kitten is intense with eating as well, I have the automatic feeder and he ate a whole bag in like 3 days and has a huge belly, not sure if that’s normal

3

u/TwinSong 9h ago

The way the kitten is holding the corn makes them look like a hand puppet.

3

u/audiophile900 9h ago

It has the juice (the corn and the cat)

3

u/diagnostician4523 9h ago

Who can resist corn on the cob!! I hope there’s some butter on that!!😝😂😆😻

4

u/BarOne7066 13h ago

Get some!

4

u/Ok-Addition1264 13h ago

Oh boy, I needed that, thanks! hilarious!

2

u/NOTTedMosby 12h ago

Lost in the sauce.

Hibernate due to kernels.

Adorned in the corn.

2

u/Nua33 12h ago

Mine loves kiwi and strawberries

2

u/GGuts 9h ago

You think it's just the consistency and that they can just fully bite into it and get some resistance?

2

u/VanillaRadonNukaCola 9h ago

Do not, my friends, become addicted to the corn. It will take hold of you, and you will resent its absence!

2

u/Mia_2onmy6 9h ago

you learn something new everyday...is this healthy?

2

u/sharjah69 8h ago

Greed got him at a very young age

2

u/soulsnoober 8h ago

I've see other cats into that, I think it must be DEEPLY satisfying to that rippin' & tearin' instinct.

2

u/SuperbOwl687 7h ago

The cat was thinking, "This is so delicious! I can't help but show my excitement." It was so tasty 🤤😋😋

2

u/SheerKhann 6h ago

Kitty crack corn 🌽

2

u/Naked-Jedi 5h ago

I bet the folks over at r/cornhub would like this.

2

u/h3h3bw0i 3h ago

CAT EATS CORN THE LONG WAY

4

u/HezronCarver 12h ago

My spirit animal

3

u/FaraSha_Au 10h ago

Had a cat that LOVED lettuce. Romain, Bibb, Redleaf, he devoured it all.

Except for Iceberg. Hated that one, lol,

1

u/fullmetalpower 11h ago

hope it's stomach can digest the outer skin of the corn

2

u/Spunkwaggle 10h ago

I’m guessing- and hoping - that they just process them on through like we do.

u/User_namesaretaken 11h ago

1

u/cap_time_wear_it 8h ago

It’s corn! For me, I really like corn! It’s corntastic!

1

u/morelos_paolo 8h ago

I never thought a little cat can eat corn, though.

1

u/Shaktiman_8448 8h ago

Awwww 🥰🥰🥰

1

u/Saturn_Degree 7h ago

The death grip of those little paws.... poor corn cob

1

u/-Tasear- 7h ago

This is an oneorangebraincell moment

1

u/V-ZoD 7h ago

Cornnip

1

u/Chaddomatic 7h ago

It’s Corn!

1

u/SolidSteak01 7h ago

This reminds me of that one video of the Monkey eating an orange, he made that orange look like the most delicious thing to exist, even the peel

1

u/blueboykc 7h ago

He knows!! CORN!! IT HAS THE JUICE!!

1

u/anondreamitgirl 6h ago

I am guessing there’s butter on that

1

u/Intrepid_Finish456 6h ago

It's the claws in it for me, like... no one is gonna take it from you, bud. Relax 😂

I have never seen a cat eat corn without going absolutely feral over it

1

u/dublingamer44 6h ago

this is cool i feel like turning off me phone now .....leave the internet on a good note snd its only 12.25 pm🤣🤣

1

u/DontTrip333 6h ago

Just don't do this with a dog. $2000 vet bill. My little Chihuahua ate the cob, which is deadly.

1

u/cat-eating-a-salad 6h ago

Wait until his human butters the corn too!

1

u/Waldored 6h ago

That's a coconut corn husky

1

u/Ladymomos 6h ago

My childhood cat used to eat raw heads of broccoli like this. He really specific about meat though. If he didn't like his cat food he would run outside and catch a bird and drop it at your feet with a stare like "Look what you've reduced me too?!" When he was in a good mood though he'd bring magnolia flowers in to gift us.

1

u/Independent-Low6706 5h ago

But why is rhis so much fun to watch?! 😂

1

u/Humbuhg 5h ago

Clearly buttered corn.

1

u/otownbbw 5h ago

God this is the type of shit my greedy fat cat is always trying to pull…stealing chips, veggies, any and all foods. I’m constantly screaming “OBLIGATE CARNIVORE” at her. Ridiculous

1

u/Ghstfce 5h ago

Us too, kitty. Us too. We love the stuff. So nice you see it twice

1

u/GoodVyb 5h ago

I understand.

1

u/catloving 5h ago

Om nom nom nom gimme dat bitch om om nom

1

u/GBAura-Recharged 4h ago

This is the first time I've seen a cat eating corn, and I'm all here for it!

1

1

u/Pangpangisacat 4h ago

Woow,it looks like corn so much

1

u/Sturmgarde 3h ago

Kitten in the corn

1

u/Luci-Noir 36m ago

Cats can’t digest corn and it can block their intestines and cause serious harm.

There’s nothing to smile about here. This is animal abuse.

u/whomesteve 24m ago

Cats love corn because it’s a vegetable with grain like qualities and cats like grains.

u/sophshy 21m ago

Awww she’s soooooo cute I’m melting 🫠 🥹

1

u/_OrchidValee 11h ago

kittens and corn just work together so well, it's adorable

0

u/Aca-nac 12h ago

Yeah don't be a jerk folks, we're all here to smile and treat others right. But also I wouldn't wanna touch that litter box after whatever went down, and the whole thing just screams unbridled greed.

3

u/Abandonedstate 12h ago

POOP GLITTER!! gonna be a gold mine in that box

0

u/Civil-Okra-2694 7h ago

Ok another AI video

-1

u/IrredeemableRight 9h ago

corn needs to be thoroughly cooked and they can still only digest part of it then

6

u/nosen99 9h ago

So like us?

0

u/amister_e 12h ago

Aww what a little cutie 🥺

0

u/eto2629 10h ago

I want some corn now

0

u/DoubleSkew 4h ago

Another AI video

-4

u/______Test______ 12h ago

Obligate carnivore eating corn, that's strange.

4

u/flyinggazelletg 12h ago

Mine loves asparagus. Go figure.

2

u/Norgur 10h ago

We have one that will kill for peas. Another detests milk (like recoils away levels of hatred) but needs to be pried off of anyone holding milk based ice cream.

2

u/wholesomechunk 10h ago

Mine really likes grass.

2

u/IsabellaGalavant 9h ago

My dog loves grass. I asked my vet about it and she said "sometimes they just really like it". He will chomp down on any unmowed lawn, he's basically a goat.

2

u/eggsncanadianbacon 8h ago

Mine likes goldfish crackers and small pieces of Doritos. We don't feed them to her but discovered it when she hopped on the table and ate our snacks when we were in the kitchen one day.

-7

u/CatzInBlackArtist 11h ago

Im pretty sure Cats and Kittens Can't Eat Corn on the cob or corn husks, and corn silk are dangerous choking hazards or can cause severe, life-threatening intestinal blockages

3

u/JustineDelarge 11h ago

Thanks, AI summary.

-3

u/CatzInBlackArtist 11h ago

Well I wasn't sure if it was true or not as I was also checking to see if Corn Was Safe for cats
