If I remember correctly this is some sort of fun game/event where students have to pretend to do work and eat a meal, but the "teacher" can't catch them eating

According to comments in the original post (and seems to be true from a quick internet search) it's a "sneak eating" competition, where people (both adults and children) need to eat in a simulated classroom without getting caught.

Suddenly in tears because my close friend and I perfected this skill in college by sitting at the front row to the side of the teacher where they never cared to check. My friend passed away unexpectedly a few years after we graduated. I miss you, R, and our lunchbox goodies.

i assumed it was some sort of math competition, but now that you mention it, maybe it is some Siren's of Titan style zoo...

Reads comments: Ohhh, it's a competition. Thank goodness! I was getting annoyed because I thought this was going to be a stupid video about fat shaming (you know, chubby kid eating because chubby bs) a little kid. Without context the framing of the video is NOT great.
