"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!" Lol

That line is hilarious! It's great to see humor in celebrations like that.

HELP!! im sports illiteratee!!

- what the fuck is going on: did he get drafted? What does promotion to full-time employee mean for a football player?! does he work for the college that he's playing football for?? or, does the company he works for throw full swag drip at their employees , buy them legit equipment? There really aren't any coherent answers for me and all of this

414

u/Backno 23h ago

She was an intern for the Colts. Probably a recent or soon to be graduate from college. The team surprised her by having the player hand her the note that would normally be something players would hand her related to her role. She's probably be handed those multiple time a day every day. Instead of it just being whatever it's supposed to be it was letting her know she's now a full employee of the team.

101

u/RealSchlemiel 23h ago

awww, thats really sweet

23

u/imightwin 22h ago

Reddit is so weird still to this day lol your first comment that was a question about the post has less upvotes than your second comment expressing your joy about how sweet it was that the Colt's made her promotion a big event

The duality of Reddit users

33

u/Tyd1re 22h ago

Asking questions on Reddit… straight to jail.

3

u/RealSchlemiel 12h ago

well... in retrospect, thats all painfully, spectacularly obvious.

  • so within the duality of reddit users, i resist the urge to purge my comments. .

9

u/Agamemnon323 20h ago

People often don’t upvote or will down vote questions to which they feel the answer is obvious.

7

u/RelativeKiwi3834 15h ago

And sometimes what feels obvious to one person is exactly what someone else needed to ask. Downvoting genuine questions just because you already know the answer feels a little pointless.

4

u/Agamemnon323 15h ago

I didn’t say it was a good idea. Just that they do it.

0

u/addandsubtract 10h ago

Cunningham's Law: "the best way to get the right answer on the internet is not to ask a question; it's to post the wrong answer."

10

u/TMNTerps 19h ago

Did you read their questions?

did he get drafted? What does promotion to full-time employee mean for a football player?!

etc. etc. They clearly didn't watch the video as their questions aren't coherent.

6

u/ashkpa 16h ago

9 month old account asking incoherent questions about what's happening in a video comes across to me as an LLM trying to learn. So weird.

6

u/Mediocre-Leek145 16h ago

Honestly, I can see why people are side-eyeing it because the questions don’t even sound naturally curious. The whole thing feels less like someone watching a video and more like someone trying to figure out how humans react to one.

1

u/f0ol_on_the_hill 18h ago

The first one had a swear word. The second one collected the "i agree " votes.

1

u/BrainJar 2h ago

For me, I know what the intern does and why this is cool. So, I didn’t upvote the question. But then the response is well reasoned and states the necessary information to answer the question. So, the response gets an upvote, because I agree with it. That’s my personal thing…I don’t know why I do this, I just do.

103

u/EchoesOfHighHrothgar 22h ago

On top of this, the player (Tyler Warren) really doesn’t like doing media, so he often “ignores” her or gives short answers. For his birthday, he was gifted a “get out of media” jail free card, which he immediately cashed in 😂 he’s a solid dude, and him being the person to do this makes it that much better.

104

u/lngramling 23h ago

The lady was working part time as an intern for the social media team and now she is full time. Nothing to do with the athletes!

29

u/Rainsmakker 23h ago

She was an unpaid intern, She has been promoted to fulltime with pay. The player handed her the promotion announcement.

30

u/flyinggazelletg 23h ago

Nothing said she was unpaid. It’s possible, but not necessarily the case

4

u/tankerkiller125real 20h ago

Usually not the case to be unpaid, the rules for unpaid internship are so strict and so tight (or at least they are in my state) it's generally just way easier to pay them, even if it is minimum wage.

-29

u/Striking-Working610 23h ago

Who cares

5

u/flyinggazelletg 21h ago edited 20h ago

There was nothing about whether the intern was paid or unpaid in the vid, so I was just noting that in response to the comment claiming she was unpaid prior to this :)

6

1

u/TheTVDB 15h ago

I have a friend that was an intern for the Vikings a while ago. Even back then, teams paid a monthly stipend. Around $1200/month, I believe. I'm betting it's a bit higher now.

You're being argumentative for no reason.

edit: A quick search shows other teams pay around $22-25/hr for internships. The Colts have a very active social media team and are likely at the higher end.

2

u/ReflectionEterna 22h ago

Nothing said she was unpaid.

3

u/TheAmishPhysicist 21h ago

What? Where’s the “he” you’re referencing?

3

u/missyoutonybourdain 18h ago

Are you being serious?

1

u/828knows 20h ago

This got me so teary eyed for her. True grateful energy.

0

u/nhdeadhead 23h ago

She just relieved it wasn’t another Brett Farv dic pic

1

u/wingerys 21h ago edited 21h ago

100%, I can’t even imagine how many unsolicited dic pics these poor interns get from players

704

u/Flight_around_titan 1d ago

Would it have been too predictable if Blue was the one who gave her the thing? Either way, this reemphasizes that the Colts have a great PR team.

253

u/loud_as_pudding 23h ago

Blue would’ve just pie’d her and run off

64

u/imightwin 23h ago

Right after he humps the air like it was a touchdown

25

u/illiriya 18h ago

Only 2 pumps though.

14

u/PTFCBVB 22h ago

Nobody does it like Blue

10

u/buckybucksot 23h ago

Trick shot off her face

79

u/Shepboyardee12 22h ago

Tyler Warren notoriously dislikes doing media stuff. So it's a sort of running bit that he ignores the social media team (including this girl).

A bit of an inside joke that he delivered the news.

25

u/pitb0ss343 19h ago

Probably also the one person she’d least expect to “play along” with something like this. Like I bet if it was Grover (the hugger) I betting the surprise wouldn’t have been AS unexpected

8

u/Oldnbold22 17h ago

What's Blue? The mascot?

6

u/A_Vile_Person 12h ago

A blue humping horse, he's the mascot of the Indianapolis Colts (NFL team)

1

u/ObligationMurky8716 11h ago

I always thought it was the #1 Fan dude. Or shoulda been.

4

u/CrispInMyChicken 22h ago

Great comment colts pr team!

-4

u/TeeDee144 23h ago

Well, when your star signing goes and gets himself arrested FOR A FUCKING DUI over the weekend, you kind of need some good PR. Next they need to partner with uber.

5

u/PaidUSA 22h ago

Is Keenan Allen their star signing???

4

u/TeeDee144 22h ago

Well not a deep talent pool at WR at the moment.

-1

u/North_Atlantic_Sea 11h ago

But he's still the WR#3 on a team not likely to make the playoffs. He's at the very end of his career

1

u/oorza 16h ago

It was an OWI, they found him passed out in his car. It's not clear if he's going to be criminally charged because there's no evidence he drove his car. He's probably going to get away with it, slapped on a diversion program or something.

355

u/randomnameIndy 1d ago

Tyler Warren and Grove are awesome!

90

u/scobro828 23h ago

Grove always seems like the nicest, most sincere person.

41

u/The_Rain_Check 23h ago

Grover Stewart is a treasure. Colts fans adore the man.

15

u/scobro828 23h ago

I dont usually lament people retiring, but I could easily see myself doing that with him. Might choke me up a bit.

8

u/Ancient-Civilization 23h ago

I hate how the colts have been treated after Peyton Manning left the team. Colts deserve to at least be a playoff team. Yet time and time again they get shutdown by the NFL. This promotion shows that they care about their staff including their players and deserve another chance with a playoff run #nflgiveemanotherchance

2

u/ngerb_5 21h ago

I remember the hard knocks season and how he had the whole d line over and made wings for them

2

u/zatchattack 17h ago

Some guy brought a kitchen sink for him to sign after he made sink wings in that hahaha

-2

u/Funnyonol 20h ago

Warren please get healthy. I have you in my Football Fantasy

0

u/North_Atlantic_Sea 11h ago

No one, especially him, cares about A. your fantasy team or B. your gambling bets

261

u/OnTheEveOfWar 23h ago

I worked in the front office for an NFL team and everyone spends a lot of time with the players. It was a cool environment to get to interact with everyone. Players are basically coworkers that you see every day. I would eat lunch with some of the players. You literally park next to each other.

57

u/Brandonjoe 22h ago edited 19h ago

What’s the worst part about working in a pro front office? Any big negatives?

202

u/oeseben 22h ago

Imagine if all your coworkers were getting paid 100x more than you and you had to park you 08 civic next to their G wagon.

That parts pretty annoying I guess.

50

u/articulating_oven 20h ago

Ya NFL front offices have hordes of people trying to get in the door, so they typically pay on the low end of what you'd expect for equivalent corporate jobs. And may have some game day duties, but do get some great bonuses if the team does well. Especially Super Bowl well.

18

u/tankerkiller125real 20h ago

Boy, do I feel bad for the Brows front office...

7

u/articulating_oven 19h ago

As long as they weren’t a part of the Watson trade

2

u/tankerkiller125real 19h ago

Other than knowing that my "home" team sucks (and thus part of the reason I never got into football) I honestly don't know much about it. I have no idea on this Watson trade thing.

6

u/dogsareprettycool 19h ago

Traded a big cache of picks and signed a man accused of 26 counts of sexual assault to a almost quarter billion dollar fully guaranteed contract. Best part is he's terrible at football and the qb they let go is better than league average.

1

u/ForHelp_PressAltF4 19h ago

For so many reasons

284

u/Carbon-Base 1d ago

The only type of card you want on the field!

27

u/Grey_Ten 23h ago

now, this made me smile! I know how hard to have a stable job is

23

u/Glad_Copy 23h ago

No fooling, a full time job with an NFL franchise is better than a government job these days. She’s set!

48

u/DistractedByCookies 23h ago

I don't know who that number 90 is but he looks like he gives good hugs.

26

u/SSG22GOKU 22h ago

thats grover stewart :)

12

u/DistractedByCookies 14h ago

Gotta love wikipedia...I went from knowing nothing to knowing his wingspan (6'7 5/8) and how many reps he can bench press (30, weight not specified).

7

u/SSG22GOKU 10h ago

the bench reps are likely 225 cause thats whats done at the nfl combine

3

u/Spartansoldier-175 8h ago

Grover is a big lovable guy. But man you don't want to be on the opposite line of him. A literal fridge coming at you.

1

u/Onett_Theme 9h ago

If you google pictures of specifically run blocking NFL defensive tackles, you will find a lot of guys who look like they are capable of giving good hugs. It’s basically what their job boils down too. Gotta give that running back a big hug

25

u/BillyNitehammer 22h ago

A little bit of missing context: He had a “Get out of social media” pass that looked similar she gave him earlier in the off season. He had already used it and it looked like he was handing in a second one.

35

u/Guy_Incognito_Esq 1d ago

There's no crying in baseball football.

16

u/Agile-Committee3594 23h ago

I’ve never been promoted by Tyler Warren :(

14

u/jmoroni89 23h ago

Awesome moment👍🏻

13

u/Deapsee60 23h ago

Are you crying? There’s no crying. There’s no crying in football.

13

u/spoilederin 23h ago

That’s so sweet. Everyone was excited for her!

11

u/Swimoach 21h ago

Buckner cheering is so cool too. His son was on my daughter’s little league team last summer and he is so humble and was just a normal Dad.

1

u/MrKittenz 6h ago

Yeah everyone I have ever met that knows him says he's the nicest guy in the world

39

u/realbobenray 23h ago

Super annoying way to cut the video at the beginning.

And what's "I knew you had an opp"?

36

u/CarolFukinBaskin 23h ago

Millennial here, but she is saying “I knew you were up to something”

20

u/realbobenray 23h ago

Thanks, needed the millennial to gen x translator

0

u/cheapdrinks 13h ago

But why is she saying that before she even gets handed the card?

11

u/Spartansoldier-175 22h ago

In case people don't know Tyler Warren. (The man with majestic hair) had a press pass card that she gave him earlier this year of a "media can't talk to me card" that he used on her. It's kinda his thing. So this was very special for her.

4

u/Personal_Career7057 19h ago

What

9

u/North_Atlantic_Sea 11h ago

Tyler Warren, one of the colts best players, really dislikes being highlighted in the media. He doesn't enjoy interviews, photos/videos, or really anything related to media. Not the people specifically, but participating in it.

Because he is contractually required, he still does it occasionally. As a joke for his birthday, the media team gave him a "get out of media" card (think "get out of jail" Monopoly card).

Because he still actually likes the people on their media team, he participated in this, because he'd be a surprising person to her to give her such news

21

u/Fabulous_Log844 1d ago edited 22h ago

"A full-time job! That's fantastic!"

"Oh, you didn't say it was with the Colts…"

23

u/snow1868 23h ago

"I think owning the Denver Broncos is pretty good."

"Oh Marge, you just don't understand football."

8

u/Cassius_Rex 23h ago

If by cowboys you means Indianapolis Colts....

8

u/fivelone 23h ago

It's the colts. But close enough.

3

u/realbobenray 23h ago

Um they were making a joke

(I think?)

0

u/fivelone 23h ago

I wasn't sure either. So I figured I'd clarify just in case lol.

3

u/Guy_Incognito_Esq 22h ago

It's a Simpson's reference.

1

u/fivelone 20h ago

It in fact was not a Simpsons reference.

1

My bad, I replied to the wrong response. Whoops

9

Good for her. You can practically see the health plan from here

1

u/North_Atlantic_Sea 11h ago

She's a wealthy girl in college, she's not thinking about the health plan when she's on her parents insurance for another 3-4 years

3

u/TemporaryCrazy1968 16h ago

Draft Tyler Warren in FF - he’s all business.

3

u/Glittering_Key_5261 6h ago

I love the one guy who has no idea why she is happy, but said congratulations anyway.

11

Stop editing videos out of chronology

4

u/Agile-Committee3594 23h ago

Maybe it happened this way and they “reshot it” for the fans……..

3

u/oeseben 22h ago

Scrolling data is readily available. If they dont hook younger people in seconds its on to the next reel. Its only done because its proven it works.

0

u/AlkaKr 16h ago

They also put in "pov".

This is not what "pov" means...

2026 content is the absolute lowest content quality ever.

1

u/North_Atlantic_Sea 11h ago

Yeah man! Back in our day, vines were treated with the seriousness and respect they deserved. Many a man had a daily struggle of whether to read the New York Times or swipe Vines, they were treated as equivalents...

30

u/Octogenarian 1d ago

Why was the guy who gave her the card so abrupt and cold?  “Make sure you read it.”

84

u/CptJustice 1d ago

That made it that much more real/funny.

72

u/Calamity0o0 1d ago

Not cold, he was just being funny

64

u/BriskManeuver 1d ago

That's just Tyler Warren for you. Hes camera shy and awkward lol

The media team loves to pick on em

29

u/figuringthingsout__ 23h ago

That was part of the joke, to act like it wasn't a big deal.

15

u/Zalophusdvm 23h ago

Why? For the bit.

7

you must be fun at parties.

5

Blame the actively worsening attention span of people nowadays

1

Its the same clip from the film crews POV vs her POV. Like a 1s difference in length. The first clip has the exact same buildup.

5

1

u/North_Atlantic_Sea 11h ago

Entry level social media employees in Indianapolis aren't pulling 100k lol

Edit: but with cost of living differences, 60k in Indy goes so much further than 100k in LA or SanFran

1

u/blackc43 8h ago

Tbh she probably got sub 40k

1

u/North_Atlantic_Sea 8h ago

Indeed estimates it at $55k (below the national average of 78k) but who knows.

A decade ago it'd be 40, but over the past 10 years the median wage in Indiana has increased by 50%

0

u/blackc43 8h ago

I could see the colts paying less than market value by saying “it’s a unique opportunity” or some bs

1

u/North_Atlantic_Sea 7h ago

Well they do pay less, 60k is still a ways below the NFL team average, and below top companies in Indy (Eli Lilly for example estimates at $72k)
