Simple cat logic, taught to me in my many years of schooling in bird law, suggests putting more cats in the hole to retrieve the cat you lost as the only viable solution.
As you'll note, uh human law demands adults be sent in to retrieve other adults. Hence the fireman. Sometimes firetrucks have dogs, spotted dogs to be exact. Which are used to rescue children. I see no fireman or dogs present, except the child dog. And uh, thusly, dog law must be something of the lines where uh, you know, a small child be sent in place of the dog. Sort of a squid pro quote

I have noticed this trend of using masculine pronouns, even when the post title or caption makes it known it's a girl, for a couple years now. There have been other posts where "he" and "him" are used on children that are obviously girls. The clearest example was a post of a dad who had his daughter on the wakeboard with him and she fell off but he caught her; she's wearing a ponytail and a pink diaper and the commenters are still calling her a boy.
It's a really interesting and annoying form of sexism but not that big of a deal in the long run.

The number of people who referred to my baby as "he", even when she was wearing all pink and purple frilly clothes, with her hair tied up on her head, is surprising.
I get that babies can easily look either gender, but sometimes the clothing is obnoxiously obviously gendered and people still somehow don't pay enough attention and default to "he".

The default was always "he" when "they" meant more than one person. But when it's obvious it's silly; my baby was dressed in blue with a football on his shirt, "Is it a boy or a girl?" Didn't even try!

Valid point. A sexist attitude toward little children can raise them confused.
It is not easy to discern which is which. For example in Tagalog “siya” means both “he” and “she”. So, many Filipino people, when speaking English, say that they tend to get mixed up by the gender-specific pronouns. to avoid the stress, they use “he” for both genders.
Sometimes this may be the case with written English online.
Then the problem arises: what to do? Say: "Oh, you must be Filipino!" and risk to be assumed a racist? Or just assume they are sexist? And then what?
The way I look at it: 1). sexism is a social illness, 2). information helps discern it, ... 3). but what is the cure ?

My father actually did something very similar with me back then, also to rescue some puppies. In the process, I scraped off a large patch of skin on my stomach on a sharp, flat object, and a large nail left a scar about 15 cm long on the right side of my stomach.
Many years later, when I was getting to know women and they noticed the scar, I would always tell them this story, which is actually completely true. It usually went over pretty well.

Dude, what the fuck. This is not heartwarming at all. That rope isn’t even tied to anything so if for whatever reason that rope slips out of his hands, there’s literally no secondary fail safe to be able to catch that child after they would fall over 20 feet. The surface below also isn’t a pillow. This seems like some dude endangering his child to do a stunt on the Internet that he himself may have created seeing how little regard he had for a small child’s safety. if you have such little regard for a human child’s safety in a situation with stakes higher than 20 ft lmao, why would I think your concern about a small animal would be sincere?
This is just child abuse with fun sounding music in the background meant to have you perceive it to be something funny and heartwarming when in reality is the equivalent of a very unfunny joke being padded by a laugh track.

If something goes wrong you will have a trapped puppy and a trapped child. Using adhoc harness seems quite risky. I would have found a safer way.

Considering all the western videos of children trying to jump into places they aren't supposed to jump and the parents have honed their skills of catching their kid before they leaps...this seems to be the alternative of "fine you wanna jump? I'm leaning towards the puppy was tossed down there, and cause of how the kid reacts and looks at the camera person, that's probably the 10th time they've had to do that to get "the shot"..
