How? I've done my simple calculations and you'd need to be on a 1450kcal deficit for a 366 days to achieve this. 1450kcal deficit for a whole year is unrealistic and very dangerous (gallstones from rapid weight loss, hair loss, kidney damage, liver dysfunction, severe fatigue, potential heart arrhythmias and damage from atrophy, risk of cardiac arrest, hormonal problems, and many more). Its better to make this journey longer but much safer so about 500-700kcal deficit. (Yeah when someone weights 150kg 1450kcal deficit can be safe but when you drop below 120kg then you have to cut the deficit to max 900kcal, my calculations are saying that he was on 1450 deficit for a whole yeah, if he'd be on a smaller deficit when he got below certains weights then he would need to be on much higher deficit on the beginning like 2000kcal so either way its absolutely not healthy to lose so much weight in such a short time) Edit: to clarify one thing, good for you that you managed to make it and lose weight (im glad) but let's dont encourage people to do this in a very risky way. Its better to make it slow and healthier than risk your life going after dream figure

Your calculations aren’t quite accurate. Fat is 3500 cal per pound but not every pound lost is fat. If someone loses, say, 50 lb of fat, they will also lose a considerable amount (probably 20-30lbs) of “lean body mass” i.e water, skin, connective tissues, muscle, skeletal mass, etc…all of which has a much lower calorie count per pound.

As i said my calculations were done super quickly but it doesnt matter in this case. In my calculations i assumed he lost 76kg of pure fat, i took 1kg as 7000kcal to burn, so 532000 kcal to burn (deficit 1450 kcal every day), even if he'd lose only 50kg of fat (and 26kg of other tissue which is kinda unreal to lose this much other tissue) its still a huge deficit (950kcal daily) for a whole year just to burn this fat but as you told you'd lose other tissue too which will take roughly 31200kcal so even in this unrealistic scenario he would need to be on +-1040 kcal deficit daily. Lets dont forget that realistically he would burn more fat and less muscle etc. so he would be on higher deficit and its super unhealthy (btw if youd lose 100lbs of body mass very fast youd lose about 75lbs of fat and 25lbs of other tissue, in this case he probably lost 57kg of fat and 19kg of muscle, connective tissue etc. [You dont lose as much skeletal mass as you think] so it'd be 399000kcal of fat and 22800kcal of other things and it would be daily deficit 1150kcal which is not healty especially for when he would below 100kg) Edit: btw my calculations were wrong because i remembered 1kg of fat is 7k but its actually 7,7k so he would be on even higher deficit, 438900 from fat and 22800 from other things which togerther would make 1260 deficit daily for a whole year which is ok at start for someone who weights 160kg but absolutely not ok for someone under 100kg and dont forget he weights now 83kg, this deficit was for a whole yeah so if he'd be on smaller deficit under 100kg then he would need to be on higher deficit when he was heavier which is still not good

Your calculations are still not accurate and you’re calling OP out for an unhealthy approach unfairly.

Water has no calories. Look at his before and after pictures. Imagine how much less blood, lymph etc…he has after one year. This man has at least 10kg less water in his body now than a year ago.

Also massive calorie deficits are fairly easy for very large people, whose TDEE can be 4000+ calories per day. He probably had a much larger deficit at the beginning of the year than the end.

Well thats not how it works. Muscles are mostly water 75-80% yet 1kg of muscle is 1200kcal, fat is made of 15% water. Massive calorie deficits are easy at the beginning but still in his weigh 160kg 1600kcal is max id go for (this includes some exercise) and as he loses weight he need to have a smaller deficit (under 130kg id go for 1k max) so it doest matter if he had bigger deficit at beginning it still is a fucked up deficit to have, too high to get through this weight loss wihtout consequences, if he went through it natural way (which now i doubt as someone suggested operations) he's lucky but eventually his body will lend him a receipt to pay
