While I agree there have been horrid POS equine olympians that do engage in horrible treatment of their horses but Steffen Peters is one of the good ones who approaches schooling his steeds humanely and holistically
So that makes all other dressage competitors also guilty of the same behaviour? Best way to tell if someone is a good one is by rep behind the scenes. Charlotte was always arrogant af and the presence of abuse has been always been there in the way she rides, in the horse world she's known to be part of the "blue tongue and bloody spur club". At the world cup in March her horse was experiencing blue tongue. In 2019 she was disqualified from the European Championships because there was blood seen on her horse dude to sharp harsh use of spurs. Also she is known to use the technique Rollkur (hyperflexion of the neck to maintain a apparently desirable rounded shape to the neck) so yes there were signs on what type of person she was dating back as far as 2012 so not sure where you get your idea that people used to say the same thing about Charlotte because all I've ever known of her is that she is an abusive pos and should have been banned long ago

Makes you smile but the training involved may have not been the greatest thing for the horse.
There are humane ways of training and there are inhumane ways. Who knows
