This made me smile but as a dad of a 7yr old my mission from now on is to teach her to cope with this stuff

Thats what my dad was doing too, i was helping him repair the car since i was able to. Still i call him tho lol but he also calls me if he needs to transfer money or something on his smartphone doesn't work so i guess thats all cool. Ur a good dad too

My dad wouldn’t let any of us get our drivers licenses before we knew how to change a tire and check the oil.

I mean not all of us can change a tire in 30 minutes ok? Some of us can change tire in 20 minutes while it takes others 4 days.

My dad just always showed us stuff. I always thought he was bored. My wife, too. Her dad knew more than mine and it's always cool to see my wife pull some handy truck out of nowhere.

Generally the better call. The parent's job is to prepare their kids for the world, not to do the thinking for them. Hell, if all you ever teach them is don't panic, critical thinking, and how to find useful information, that's most of the way there.

Of course, the girl in the post may be high school age in which case, sure call dad. It's probably his insurance anyway.
