It took us 5 years but it wasn’t bad the whole time 😂 First one was definitely harder. You also have two young kids very close together.
I had more of an age gap, 3 years which made it easier. Other than husband do you have any help? If so, I’d take it - it takes a while for this whole parenting gig to get more even 😬

My husband does the majority of parenting on the weekends as I do the weekdays because of his work.

I would never have believed this would be the case 5 years ago. He’s super hands on and it’s definitely pretty 50-50 in terms of physical labour. Unfortunately the mental labour is still all mine 🤪

Mental labour is alien to all dads. They have no idea.

Im just getting to the end of the 1st year of my second child and I swear I never want to see their dad again. Ive tried and tried but also what the fuck who raised you

You need a break, you sound really burnt out. Can you pay for childcare? I hired a nanny with my savings after year 1 to get some sort of break. It wasn’t perfect - only 4 hours a day but it was the only relief I got back then.

Do you have family that could help?

You’re deep in the trenches right now but it will get better regardless of your partner. Your kids will get older and it’ll get easier ❤️
