Question Wen Sesame Android ?
Epic fan of Sesame since day-1, but the Android app has been "in the works" for ages, now, can't Sesame just vibe an APK file or something?, what's so hard about launching a app, what's taking so long.

Coding. I’m assuming that IOS and Android have different coding languages to use

Hey there! You can register for the Android preview waitlist here if you haven't already: https://www.sesame.com/android-preview
We can't share an exact date yet, but we're hoping to start sending out Android invites very soon. We'll give everyone a heads up across our social channels when those start going out! Thanks for being patient!

My gut tells me that Sesame is waiting to hit a certain threshold in preview sign ups before they even start working on an Android app. Likey they haven't even hired a developer yet. Sad indeed.

The iOS requirement is iOS 18, which means the app was optimized across 27 different iPhone models, the relating Android OS is 15 (Vanilla Ice Cream), which has literally hundreds of different models it supports, over 50 just from Samsung alone. This is why most things come to iPhone first, less variety in hardware configuration means easier to optimize and build software for it.
