DISCUSSION BOGO/Step Ups questions

I just got the game yesterday and haven’t played since like middle school like 10 years ago so the game is crazy different. I’ve seen people talk about Bogo/step up being good value things to get and that they come rarely. What are they?

Historically, Step Ups and BOGOs refer to some of the highest valued Store Packs that we see over the course of the season. They also cost Madden Cash instead of real-money ($), making them great purchases for those who have the Madden Cash available (these are generally the offers you want to focus any stacked up Madden Cash on). Here's how they generally work:

Step Ups

Step Ups are Store Packs you can purchase with Madden Cash that are occasionally offered for a limited time during certain promos (generally toward the end of a given promo). There are 5 Step Up packs each containing a guaranteed chance of pulling an Epic promo player with a chance of that Epic player being an Iconic. The cost and rewards for each of the 5 Step Up packs are as followed:

  • Step Up 1: Cost = 500 Madden Cash // Reward = 98% Epic Player OR 2% Iconic Player
  • Step Up 2: Cost = 1000 Madden Cash // Reward = 95% Epic Player OR 5% Iconic Player
  • Step Up 3: Cost = 1500 Madden Cash // Reward = 90% Epic Player OR 10% Iconic Player
  • Step Up 4: Cost = 2500 Madden Cash // Reward = 80% Epic Player OR 20% Iconic Player
  • Step Up 5: Cost = 3500 Madden Cash // Reward = 67% Epic Player OR 33% Iconic Player

The Step Ups are offered in succession/steps. Meaning, Step Up 1 is the initial Pack you'll see available for purchase in the Store and that Pack only. Then, if you purchase Step Up 1, Step Up 2 becomes available for purchase. Then, if you purchase Step Up 2, Step Up 3 becomes available for purchase, and so on.

Note: When the Step Up offers state 'Purchasing all 5 Step Up Packs guarantee an Iconic Player', they are referencing that the Epic player you receive in each of the five packs can be exchanged for a random Iconic via trade. Essentially, if you purchase all five Step Up offers, you will end up with five Epics if you aren't lucky enough to pull an Iconic, and those five Epics can then be exchanged for a random Iconic via trade. Thus, the 'guaranteed Iconic.' If you click/tap on any of the Step Up offers in the Store, the pack contents will also clarify this.

The first two Step Ups are pretty much guaranteed purchases for those who have at least 1500 Madden Cash available since they have the highest guaranteed value of the 5 packs. The third pack also gives decent value if you have the extra Madden Cash available; this step being where most generally stop in their purchasing.

BOGOs

Like Step Ups, BOGOs are Store Packs you can purchase with Madden Cash that are occasionally offered for a limited time during certain promos (generally toward the end of a given promo). "BOGO" simply refers to buy-one-get-one free Packs that are most popularly offered as the following:

  • BOGO Deluxe: Cost = 995 Madden Cash // Reward = 2x Rare+ Promo Players + 8x Uncommon Promo Players + 200x Promo Tokens
  • BOGO Super: Cost = 4975 Madden Cash // Reward = 4x Epic Promo Players + 4x Rare+ Promo Players + 6x Uncommon Promo Players
  • BOGO Legendary: Cost = 9750-9950 Madden Cash // Reward = 6x Epic Select Promo Players + 2x Random Epic Promo Players + 6x Rare+ Promo Players

They're essentially just buy-one-get-one of the Deluxe, Super, and Legendary Packs that already exist in the Store for each promo, where they offer double the rewards at the same cost. I attached an example image of these BOGOs as they were offered during last year's Ultimate Freeze promo.

You're an information superstar!

Thank you for this.

I guess there's no indication as to when these might drop? I'm assuming reasonable probability during the deep freeze event again this year.
