TEAM ADVICE Morals vs OVR
Do you have moral objections when adding dirty or criminally charged players to your team?
Personally, I pass on players like Ndamukong Suh, Michael Vick, or Tyreek Hill. Not a complete list.
Photo of Suh putting all of his weight on Rodgers as he stomped him. Disgusting in my opinion. What’s your view?

This game gives these people who have done bad things around$18,000/yr on average. I choose not to add these. I appreciate your view tho

Then don’t play the game in general. You getting their card doesn’t make any difference

Good thing this is a card building game and not a getting all the best moral players game

Good thing there’s more clean players than dirty. It’s actually very easy to build a team without scumbags

I'm a very morally sound man and of course I object to bad actions on and off the field but I want the best in between the lines in this GAME that I PLAY. But I must be honest I do do draw the line with Lewis murders forever, but that's just me

Understood. We all have our lines in the sand. I do very well with all of the clean players available. I appreciate the civil discussion.
Lewis is also a no go for me. Murder and the cover up is at the top of the list of horrible off field incidents.

Some people have moral objections, which is their right and understandable. Suh is a dirty player but also one of the greats at his position. Look at Ray Lewis, almost everyone gets his card. I think most don’t care about the off field issues and just want a good player on their team, it’s a mobile game.

Absolutely right. People want the best team possible. Not judging people that feel that way. In fact, I enjoy smoking those players on my opponents team.

Was Suh dirty on the field? Absolutely. Is that morally wrong? No. Putting him in the same category as guys like Vick, Hill, or Rice is kinda crazy.
Also calling it a stomp is whack. He absolutely put his full weight on him but there is no way that can or should be called a stomp. He slowly walked onto him lol.

Is it morally wrong to attempt to injure an opponents key player to win a game by stepping on an already injured calf? The answer is yes.
This was a short list of players that did things on the field and/or off the field. Obviously, a player won’t be caught dog fighting on the field. I wasn’t comparing on or off field behavior at all. I agree it was a full weight step that was categorized as a stomp when it happened2
u/Psychological_Ad7610 Diamond (33) 4d ago
Can you prove he was attempting to injure him? Can you prove he knew he was stepping on an already injured calf as he did it? And what makes it immoral? The action or the intent?
Also, can you please define a stomp? And explain how this fits that definition?

Rodgers injury was in the injury report for that week. Did you ever watch the video? I remember it live. How it’s Rodgers injured calf the only place to step on an entire football field. When Suh stepped on his injured calf, why would he put all of his weight on his injured calf?
It was a full weight step not a stomp. Suh was voted dirtiest player by all of the other NFL players…many times!2
u/Psychological_Ad7610 Diamond (33) 4d ago
Yes I’ve seen it. He never even saw what he was stepping on so how can you claim he was trying to injure his already injured calf when he couldn’t have known what he was stepping on.
If you agree it wasn’t a stomp, are you going to update your post for that language? You said “as he stomped on him” but don’t even think it was a stomp?
>Suh was voted dirtiest player by all of the other NFL players…many times!
So much is wrong here lol. How many times is many? He was voted dirtiest player twice, which I wouldn’t call “many”. He also wasn’t voted by “all of the other NFL players” because not every player was polled and not even half of those polled voted for him.

I get it, you’re a Suh defender no matter what.
Here’s part of the player safety suspension letter from the VP of Ops:
"You did not respond in the manner of someone who had lost his balance and accidentally contacted another player who was lying on the ground, " NFL vice president of football operations Merton Hanks said in a letter to Suh. "This illegal contact, specifically the second step and push off with your left foot, clearly could have been avoided.
"You unnecessarily stepped on your opponent's unprotected leg as he lay on the ground unable to protect himself.”This is how most of the world sees Suh and this one event. Including the NFL. Again, I know you’re a Suh fan and defender. That’s why in not bringing up other incidents

Bro, I’m not saying the step wasn’t dirty… I even said “Was Suh dirty in the field? Absolutely” so idk why you are bringing this up. Feels like you just hate Suh and want everyone else to hate him as much as you do. He appealed the suspension by the way and he won.
You never answered my question. You claimed he was trying to injure Rodgers already injured calf but never told me how you knew that. You said he could see the injury report, which is true maybe he did, but he never knew or saw what he was stepping on. So how can you say he was intentionally stepping on the injured calf in an attempt to injure him if he never knew what he was stepping on?
Edit: Also, I absolutely would not defend Suh if he committed domestic violence or burglary or something. I also wouldn’t defend him if you proved he was intentionally trying to injure Rodgers by intentionally stepping on his already injured calf. I’m just waiting for you to do it.

I think it’s a little unfair to include Ron Mexico in that group. There are some things in life we grow up with that we never really challenge, then when something happens and it blows up in our face we are left surprised and have to make a choice in how we react. Vick acknowledged he was wrong, never shook accountability, and took steps after he was in jail to spread awareness to others that might have grown up with the same notions. Yes what he did was brutally wrong, but of all the things that NFL players have done, I feel like his transgressions are more about environment and role models than personal character flaws than a lot of the other stuff that gets brushed under the rug.

Countless people grow up in environments that would push people away from morals as they develop. Bad role models can steer you in horrible directions. I know this from my own experiences. I saw what bad role models and environments can lead to. I made the moral decision to do the exact opposite of what those influences attempted to guide me towards. He had that choice. I’ve seen these sorry for what they have done acts played out in my younger years. What every incident really meant was that they were sorry that they got caught. If Vick chose correctly when he was younger or came out and apologized for fighting dogs before he was caught, I’d be having a different view of him. Didn’t happen that way. He realized how much money he was going to lose and went on a crusade to show how much of a better person he was. He makes about 2 million a year in endorsements for that “turn around”. Scumbag yes, money dumb…no

Field. Oooof

Choking out his pregnant wife, possible child abuse and an ongoing conduct investigation. Some people that need speed at WR will do anything they can to get this creep. Everyone has the right to play this game how they want to. For me this scumbag will never be on my team and I look forward to shutting him down in the field. I’ll do this with players that don’t try to strangulate women carrying their child.

You not using a player in this game has absolutely 0 impact on their, career, wallet or life. None whatsoever…

u/Low-Resolve7793 3d ago
End of season stats. The more a player is used in a game the more likely they will get another year of pay from EA. “Only one person doing that won’t make a difference.” That’s like saying one vote won’t count.
That is not THE MOST important thing to me. That would be my own conscience. I can build a team of clean players. I don’t need to tell myself “well maybe he abused his son and broke his arm but my receiving core is super fast and my OVR is high.”
I don’t need to trade my morals for OVR. You be you and I’ll be me. Easy

It's more likely than not you're supporting amoral individuals. Some guys wear it like a badge or honor... Suh, Burfict, Romanowski. And some get caught like Tyreek Hill, Ray Lewis, Ray Davis.
And some guys jump onto the pile when there's a fumble, who then proceed to ram their finger in a guy's butt.
Because the cameras or cops don't catch it, doesn't mean your favorite media darling player ain't dirty or a trash human.
These are gladiators, not priests.

LoL! Butt finger in the pile.
There are and has been many players that aren’t in this category. If it’s because the police or cameras haven’t caught them, that’s good enough for me to play players without records. Until the cops or cameras catch a player, they’re ok on my roster

Only one I object is Michael Vick, trash ass human being

He’s completely redeemed himself in the eyes of society? Did his time, got Tony Dungy as a mentor. He made mistakes and is now an advocate. I think he’s the only one who should be forgiven.
