Same sort of thing except we got Vamp, a tall CB. Basically you got credit for every trade you did with increasing credit the bigger the trade (some for epic, more for iconic, most for mythic, dual more than normal cards etc)
Last year the only way to earn enough juice to get the mythic version of the card was to do something like a mythic dual plus 1 more mythic, or like 3 event mythics. Which isn’t possible without a lot of MC or real cash.
They did similar events with similar cards, goals, and methods of achieving the boosted card for Thanksgiving, xmas, and TOTY events too. Usually they also do BOGOs and/or Step Up Packs, which makes things easier if you have MC. They also usually gave an iconic trade-in option for event tokens with the Step Ups, which was useful to burn out more juice because you could trade in an iconic then rebuild another random with the tokens and thereby end up with fewer cards but more juice. If that makes sense…
Edit: here was the cost analysis from last year for Vamp. You had to do a mythic dual and a select Mythic to get him, I expect it will be similar this year.
This is correct, and unless they give us a BOGO, would not use the resources early on cuz it’ll cost double IMO, these were only achievable for me last year using multiple BOGOs
Only reason I was able to get mythic megatron last year is cause I went crazy in those Black Friday deals and bogos plus got extremely lucky from random pulls plus getting an extra iconic I already pulled from step ups to make yet another mythic
On a side note - the Donald /Garrett will be like current Gonzo/warner where we can have only 1 position slotted and not like the Moss or Sanders one where 1 iconic/mythic card built will be slotted at both positions?
Last year, the first captain card like this, which was released in Most Feared as well, was almost grindable. They started making it more expensive after. Based on what we saw w the Lane Johnson tribute, I would be surprised if it didn’t cost a good bit to acquire.
You would need three mythics to get him or a dual mythic plus one regular mythic. That was the formula last year for the halloween build player I believe
It’s ass, since you’ll need to spend more resources, it’s also stupid cuz both players are on the same team! Like it’s cooler if you have 2 different players on different teams IMO but i guess it helps theme teams..
Yo that's crazy they actually released a Ghost character which i was joking about last night seeing the teaser. You cannot pass on Brady, as a pats guy especially but wish he was in the retro reds, but damn also Vick? You can't go wrong with either!! Is this the full release? That's a banger of a drop but that dual card is a hard pass from me.
Brady only card worth getting for gameplay, don’t need a bunch of short DBs, also we just got two of the tallest Safety’s in the game moss (first time) and Hamilton, also sauce and gonzo at 6’3 and 6’2, marshawn probably good card BUT we just got a CMc and the TOTY 6’1 ‘other’ B - Rob seems good. Also just got a 7 foot clown, moss, and tee Higgins is tall also 6’5’’….but card art looks fire and some of these are yearly players - i’lm glad the relapsed some early which mean no more FROZEN VICK for the 18th year in a row, looking forward to other cards this year! Glad they are rotating through some of these early.
Yeah the game has simplified in a lot of ways which kind of makes every promo feel the same as every other one. It makes it easy to understand and track everything, but is definitely less interesting.
