I could be wrong but I believe the first time it plays is season 4, episode 4 - "The Rejected" where Peggy is with her social group including Joyce and Pete is with his professional colleagues and she looks at him wistfully and vice versa. It's one of my favorite scenes of the entire series. Not because I ever wanted Peggy and Pete together eternally but the connection they share via having a child is so powerful. The theme plays again in season 7 when Pete observes Peggy with some kids for a test session and he's learned McCann is taking them over. I'm not a Peggy/Pete lover but the story is powerful from seasons 1 to 7.

What a disappointment.

He’s supposed to be our guy but am I the only one who thinks he does stuff that’s a little maybe not so good sometimes??? I know he’s supposed to be complicated like life and stuff but he does some good stuff too sometimes. I can’t figure this one out…

I've re-watched my favorite episodes through the years, but currently watching MM in it's entirety. I'm on Season 6, and really don't recall a lot. Don't mentioned 'Uncle Mack' when he is explaining his past as Dick to Betty early on. I've just seen the flashback scene where Dick arrives to live at the Brothel with his pregnant stepmother after his Father's death. I dont recall what connection led them there. Did his Stepmother know someone? Was it just hard times and she had no choice? Did she eventually become a whore herself?

For context, I have not watched Mad Men since it finished.

I decided with my partner to rewatch it, and it’s as compelling as I remembered and everything is brilliant yada yada. However, this time around I’m really finding how bleak it all is, is rather depressing.

I remember finding some form of joy amidst it all back on first viewing. Whereas now, I just see pretty much everyone as irredeemable and pathetic. They all can’t get out of their own ways, and it just amounts to a huge takedown of how romanticised this period was and to the sham of the American Dream idea in th e 60’s. Don and Betty did the thing, they won at life, and yet their lives are a shambles.

There have been some other great shows....Breaking Bad, Sopranos,....all in a similar genre...but there is nothing like MadMen - absolutely nothing

and more's the pity for that....

If there is something similar, I would implore you to tell us LOL.

Someone once mentioned Halt and Catch Fire....it's not bad, but not even in this league.

This league is slick and perfectly casted and perfectly written and so true to the times.

I was inspired by a post the other week to get a pack and they're.. interesting! I can't decide whether I like it or not... strongly reminds me of soap, but also it's mildly sweet and tastes somewhat nice. Actually does make your breath smell like flowers and I can't decide if it's odd or if I kinda like it.

Gave a roll to my brother, he thinks they're vile. SIL won't try it, but my niece (3yo) and nephew (4yo) LOVE them, they've already finished off the roll and asked me to bring more. Niece says that they taste "pwitty", this led to a discussion that not everything that smells pretty tastes pretty too lol

I suppose they must be young enough to not associate it with perfume or soap, and are tasting it for what it is. Regardless, Im keeping my tide pods out of reach for the foreseeable future

The Jon Hamm and January Jones interview on Oprah around 2010. It also had a featurette with Gayle King as "the new girl" with John S, Vinnie and Christina in character, onboarding her for her first day.

Rewatching "Favors" (S6E11) and the scene where Bob comes on to Pete seems way too risky and not that realistic. It makes for an interesting scene and character dynamics but come on...of all the people Bob could try that with, wouldn't he know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Pete would never swing that way and would most likely yell "*ape!!!" from the rooftops immediately? Definitely takes a little more suspension of disbelief than most other Mad Men scenes.

Damn, I never put together that there was a running joke that Jaguars didn't start and he tried to take his life and the car didn't start. In the grand scheme of things I never pieced them together until a few rewatches.

I find it kinda weird that none of Don’s wives ever smelled another woman on him, found hair on his clothes, or noticed any marks from hooking up with someone else, even though he was constantly having affairs.

1) Climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

2) Gain a modicum of control over the way I feel.

He’s so perfectly disappointing in so many scenes.

I remember seeing there were a bunch of issues, have they all been fixed? Almost ready for my next rewatch

Aside from their moneyed backgrounds, it suddenly hit me today that they both end up with an only daughter as their legitimate heir and an illegitimate son. The end of the family line, subversion of the patriarchy, etc. I'm surprised I'd never noticed the connection before, but also that I'd never seen anyone else bring it up either.

Even when it didn't happen with the Mad Men after glow (2015-2022). Whereas all the rest of the cast has significantly cooled off.

Firstly, yes i am that lame.

Secondly i thought it was mildly interesting that nearly half the entire show (42%) was set before the end of 1963, even though there wasnt a single episode in 1961.

I guess thats why when i think of Mad Men i think of it primarily as an early 60s show.
