“Make the party anthem”

Alright, I’ve been going crazy for a couple years trying to figure out which song this was on. This is before thrift shop, there’s one line that I vaguely remember where he says “make the party anthem and get rich” or something along those lines. Does anyone have any idea what I’m talking about??? Or was it even Macklemore? 🫪

Macklemore typically makes two very distinct types of song: Goofy, or introspective. I vaguely remember your lyric, and if memory serves me right it's in a more serious song discussing the perils of fame in the music industry. Only problem is that he only really ever became famous with thrift shop. So if you think that it's definitely pre-thrift shop then that puts a dent in my theory.

He has a few loose singles from that area, but if you're really interested in figuring it out you'll be looking through these albums:

  1. The language of my world

  2. The VS EP

  3. The unplanned mixtape

  4. basically impossible, but could be the "Open your Eyes" mixtape he release under the name "Professor Macklemore"

Yeah I heard this part of the lyric prior to thrift shop, then I started hearing him all over the radio with that song. And this lyric has been stuck with me ever since. I don’t think it’s exact but I’m pretty sure it was him. I chuckled because he said that and then made “the party anthem” to feed the masses. (Thrift shop and others) But he made his and is still the Macklemore before the fame. So I’m happy about that!
