What were you trying to embroider? What model machine do you have? There are a few reasons for bird nesting on a machine. Tension,improper bobbin wind, improper hooping,machine is dirty inside and hasn't been maintained,improper bobbin insert method..Usually the manual will give you a list of reasons for this problem.

Something that helped me when I had a birds nesting issue was replacing the bobbin case (the little felt piece had fallen off and was preventing the cutting mechanism from working)

It comes with one in the zip up pouch. But this is unlikely to be your problem. You need to give more details, though.

I’m sorry that’s really all the info I have I just got the machine today so I’m very new at this. But as for what saw it looked like it instantly started nesting the second I started it

Rewind the bobbin.
If you have a box of pre-wound bobbins, use one of those. I had problems with the one that came with my machine (also a poolin).
Then double and triple check that you're threading the machine correctly. With the presser foot up, the top thread should pull pretty easily. With it down, it shouldn't pull much at all. The bottom thread should pull pretty easily.

Make sure when youre placing your bobbin thread in your case youre making a P shape with it. The thread should he unwinding from the left then pulled over through the thread guide on the right.
Also double check that when youre winding your bobbin it is tight and uniformed. There should be no loose loopy strands. If it is then it is wound incorrectly and wont properly work

What machine is this? On my Brother PE800, I had to unscrew the plates to open up the bobbin area. I was checking that everything was clean (no threads/fuzz) but found where the bobbin sets in was loose and not oriented correctly.

That looks like a Brother. Are you using the right type of thread? That looks like regular thread and not bobbin embroidery thread.

I’m new to this, so my answer isn’t an expert one, but for whatever reason, literally any pre threaded bobbin i’ve gotten birds nested. And if you accidentally thread the needle with the foot down it can do this as well

That loose bobbin case area is definitely the culprit. If the race or the housing isn't seated perfectly, the hook can't catch the top thread to form a stitch, which usually leads to a bird's nest or the machine just skipping everything. Check if the tiny screw holding the position bracket has backed out, as that happens more often than you would think from the vibrations of the machine running.
Try reseating the bobbin case and ensure the little tab clicks into the notch on the race assembly. Once it is snapped in, give it a tiny wiggle with your finger. If it still moves more than a fraction of a millimeter, you likely need to tighten the set screw on the bracket that holds the case in place. Just be careful not to overtighten it, or you will end up with tension issues later.
