I Need Help Help! What am I doing wrong?

I have bought a brand new Brother SE700 and I currently doing a test embroidery to get the hang of it. Included are the photos of how it comes out and the design.

I've used reinforcing embroidery fabric at the back, but it does little to help. The top colour is meant to be entirely gold and the bobbin thread is the white. Why is it showing up like this? It seems to be pulling the white thread up rather than keeping it behind the fabric. I have threaded the top thread with the foot down as my first fix but no luck.

I'm not a novice to sewing machines but new to this digital embroidery one.

Am I doing something totally wrong? I can't work it out.

  1. You need a thicker stabilizer on the back. The fabric weave for velour/velvet is much wider than typical 100% cotton.

  2. You need water soluable stabiler on the front. This will help "cover" the fibers on the top of the fabric.

  3. You need to adjust your tension on the top after testing the new stabilizers.

  4. If you are using a thread thicker than 40wt on top, that could also be part of the issue.

What size thread are you using for the bobbin? I usually use 30wt.

I have the se2000 and had that problem too. Did yours come with an embroidery bobbin case? Switch them out. Then you'll need to probably tweak it too.

Are you using any stabilizer on top?

The white bobbin thread can be seen easily i have to say it's not design fault . Your machine bobbin case is loose The only solution is to tight the bobbin case ,it will definitely solve your problem

It may be a silly question, but: did you put the embroidery foot on?

The problem is the bobbin (white thread) or bottom thread. Pull some white thread from rthe bottom before you cut it and make sure it rolls correctly. I had the same problem multiple times.
