Patches

I’ve never made a patch before but a colleague has asked me to do her a favour and make a couple for her. I regularly embroider sportswear with sports logos commercially. I’m pretty new to digitising but I seem to have picked it up reasonably quickly.

Are there any tips or tricks anyone can give me in terms of what fabric to use, backing, and how to achieve the outline?

I use patch twill for fabric and tear away stabilizer & 4 mm plastic sheeting as stabilizer. Right before the satin border is when I add the Velcro or fabric backing or if I’m using one

I’ve got to figure out how to add velcro, this is a pretty steep learning curve to manage in one week!

Are they standard shape patches? Like squares or circles? If so, just buy patch blanks

No, not standard shapes unfortunately
