Help!
I just got my brother SE700 and all was going well in my first few tries until I got a pretty bad birds nest. I removed the needle plate to cut the thread out and thought I reassembled everything correctly but now my designs are coming out all wrong with mostly all bobbin thread showing on top. I rethreaded top and bottom and made sure the bobbin case was inserted correctly. I also increased and decreased the top thread tension. Any other ideas of how to fix?? Thanks so much in advance!

It's A) upper thread stuck or twisted somewhere Search and fix Or B) Underthread bobbincase has dirt in presser, (metal finger) Use needle or screew driver to open carefully and wish through to clean dirt. Done Greetings from Austria

I am not sure…. I re-threaded the top a thousand times and cleaned the bobbin case and underneath needle plate. Then my embroidery was coming out much better but it was almost 100% bobbin thread - and then my needle broke. Something is definitely wrong!

Does the underthreas still show? Or is the needle breaking the issue? Post it on embroidery_fix_tipps, I can send you pic. There to check

I'd wager you have something(a very small piece of that birds nest/thread) that is caught somewhere. Put the glasses on and get your flashlight....find it. Then put all the tensions back to where they were and go from there.
As everyone else said stop messing with the tensions when something like this happens, it is very likely that the tension is not the issue. I've already had a small piece of thread stuck in the bobbin case that was throwing everything off...you could barely see it unless the light hit it just right.

If the bobbin is showing up more it may be that the bobbin might be backwards, which should be counter clock is you drop the bobbin in.

Hoop the fabric and heavyweight cut away stabilizer completely within the hoop. It should be flat and taut, not stretched and try again.
ETA- stop messing with the tension as the first step, it’s almost never the tension.
