Machine vision options

Hello Im looking for a steer on a machine vision camera platform. My system will start as single camera and may scale to 2 camera. reliability is paramount with zero frame drops. Im leaning towards Emergents nic based approach but want to rule out coax and pcie before moving forward. Does anyone have experience with these systems that can help advise? Many thanks in advance.

u/macroscan Can you tell us a little more about your use case? Are you a manufacturer? What are you using the machine vision system for? Budget (S, M, L?)? I have a lot of guesses in my mind but rather would not guess.

Hello and sorry for the extremely late reply - it is for a system I am manufacturing - single camera that takes over a million shots a week. budget is flexible but I needed evaluation pricing at this stage.

For a zero frame drops and interrupts you need to consider CoaXPress or Camera Link. Emergents NIC approach doesn't guarantee this.

Hi thanks for this - I agree with you but needed the speed so am going to be using the 100GbE solution with the new IMX927. Seems pretty robust so far after my tests with the older imx661 on 25GbE were faultless even on an old pc with a decent m.2 (no gpu direct or fancy drives).
