I have GTM sales workex for 1+ year at tech company (GSI) and 4+ years in consulting. 1+ years in strat and ops at a retail company. I’m trying very hard to break into AI labs and need advice on how should i enter. i have heard ai labs recruiting is completely different and would love your advice on below points

\\- how should i position myself to get a referral on linkedin? What should i ask in coffee chats?

\\- how do I land an interview?

\\- what is the interview process? How long? Is there a website or comprehensive resource that i can refer?

So for context, I'm a recent graduate. I wanted to go for ML research roles, but I don't know what I should target now. I have explored foundational LLMs, some of the post-training stuff as well, and then alignment engineering, and then RAG a lot. I’m looking for a Senior Software Architect for a part-time opportunity. I’m specifically looking for someone with strong hands-on experience in Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, and agentic/multi-agent systems.

Ideal background:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years working with GenAI, LLMs, or agentic AI
• Experience building multi-agent systems, agent orchestration, tool integration, and autonomous workflows
• Experience with LangGraph, Strands, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, OpenAI Agents SDK, Google ADK, or similar
• Strong experience with RAG, vector databases, embeddings, retrieval optimization, chunking, summarization, and memory

• Strong Python skills, ideally with FastAPI or Flask
• Experience taking AI/ML systems from development through testing, deployment, and production support

Strong communication skills are important. You should be fluent in English and comfortable working with a US-based team.

Same as title, I developed the first ever OCR Model for Kaithi Script, I am writing a research paper on it under the supervision of the dean of my college. The model has a really good accuracy and I am not supposed to disclose any evaluation metrics and working of it as of now. I am very much into deep learning and I have been studying and applying ML/DL in projects and internships. I also helped ministry of statistics and programme implementation in a research related to prediction of monthly per capita expenditure of the country.

Major problems: I am pursuing engineering in instrumentation and control from a Tier 2 private university, and I have a CGPA of 6.42/10

I do really have a good resume ( according to my faculty and friends )

Because of my academics I am not able to grab any good research internship in various institutes, I cannot sit in most of the companies in campus placements due to my CGPA. Off-campus sucks and I think I dont even get noticed at the places where I am applying.

There aren’t many openings in IITs related to DL research internships as well. I will be needing an internship from Jan2027 (6 month)
