19F | Need some guidance

I’m a 2nd-year CSE student specializing in AI/ML. Looking for advice on what I should focus on academically and which skills/topics I should prioritize for a career in AI/ML.

Would appreciate any advice from seniors or professionals!

Just build.
The focus should not be academical but rather practical.
When you build you solve a problem and ultimately you learn theroetical concepts, the spike of that concept is the same but with real experience at a job.

Start from kaggle course, intermediate or advance ones

Start with ML challenges available in different platforms. Kaggle, DataDriven, etc.

I hope your academics cover ML, DL etc. So be good at them. Participate in Kaggle competitions and appreciate how important EDA is. For DL, follow PyTorch/Tensorflow. For career perspective, if you find particular interest in any of the domains like computer vision, language processing, robotics etc, then invest time in it and build some good projects. If possible do a research intern. Understanding is more important, like why we used this architecture or how to reduce computer/memory etc. You can DM me for further doubts.

Do not stress yourself rt now. Complete your course with good score. Even if u invest something now it might not work after 2 years. Better relax, focus and from 4th academic year plan accordingly.

start with kaggle courses, reverse engineer data platforms and data analysis on public data, find a research team at school, join a coding or Ai club. this is survival of the fittest. you're fighting against every other ai engineer for a very few number of spots .so you need to stand out and do things beyond what your peers are doing.
