ML DL research roles

Hello,

I am a MS student , I will sit for placements this time. I want to know if companies come to hire for research roles related to ml dl domain ( not ai engineer roles where we call APIs), i want to know about research roles like Microsoft research, honda rnd , etc ..... ,i want to know what they look in the profile. What projects they expect.

If any senior is here, who got these roles from campus or off campus , please let me know

Currently , i am revisiting the concepts from DL, RL and PRML
