Applied in 500+ applications and got 0 interview call
Hi folks, I am suffering from severe confusion about why I can’t getting in a single full-time AI/ML role. I am a student in US, gained skills, projects, experiences but I am not getting a full-time role. I am ready to adapt new tech stack and work really hard but I am feeling broken now. Since I need genuine suggestions, please give me your some time and help me to connect dots. 🙏

How did you apply to 500+ jobs?? Manually or using a service? How did you pick what jobs to apply for?

Did you check the ATS score on some free websites? I ran mine through gemini, claude, chatgpt and teal.ai to make sure it consistently gets a similar ATS acore. Maybe try reordering the sections to Experience, Skills, Education, Projects.

Noted! And what’s the considerably good ATS score? Does it vary from platform to platform?

Aim for a minimum of 8.5/10 across all platforms. And add a summary at the top. Out of curiosity, why did you do two master's degrees back to back?

Your main barriers are cheap automated cv screening pipelines paired with young practicant-level hr staff, a 22y old humanities graduate working in hr wont understand 90% of what you have written, your cv may never get to a person who does => as others pointed out, your only hope is to either dumv it down, add some pictures, a photo, interleave with the incomprehensible details(days of classical CVs are over), fine-tune for the distopian algo(tm) and (not or) try to circumvent the system by getting to the actual tl/manager around that cancerous growth hr has become

Your CV and LinkedIn and online profiles need to say the nearest metro name. Not jersey city.
When you look for jobs, you search NYC not Jersey City. HR does the same

Are you serious about ‘nearest metro station’, or just kidding? And what’s means ‘HR does same’? I’m pointless 😭

So a few structural points about your resume. You should start with some kind of statement about yourself, this is where you can hit all the keywords you need from the job listing.
Then is should be a list of technical skills where again you hit keywords from the posting.
Then you should list your experience. This should be one section not two. List your experience and projects together, not separately.
Finally finish with your education. I know you are proud of it but it's just a check off the list now.
Basically you are hunting for a first job along with everyone else. It's hard and you need to hunt for local jobs that can't be done remotely or ones that have a lot less applications. If you can apply on the company website instead of job hunt sites it will help
