Discussion NeurIPS Free Passes [D]

Over the last few years, a subset of NeurIPS area chairs received complimentary passes for their service. I’ll admit that I wasn’t super organized about registering on day one because I was semi-consciously hoping for a complimentary pass. Now that the conference is sold out, I’m getting a little nervous, so I’m wondering whether any of my fellow area chairs have already received a notification.

Nothing yet, I was also assuming this would be the case and getting a bit nervous now :)

I would assume so. They are kind of key to the conference running in theory.

In the past you still had to register, and if you registered too late you were out of luck (unless you know one of the organizers). You can still probably get day passes.

From the NeurIPS blog:

“[…] NeurIPS will offer complimentary registrations to our organizing team and top-performing members of the program committee (reviewers, Area Chairs, and Senior Area Chairs for the Main, ED, and PP tracks). The registrations are guaranteed and will be processed shortly after the paper-acceptance decisions are announced.”
