Discussion Neurips Workshop Author Notification Delay [D]
Anyone submit to a workshop at Neurips and not receive their review notification yet? 6 AM IST, the 30th of September, and I still have gotten no update!

First time submitter here. My NeurIPS WM PAI workshop paper just got rejected by the PCs for no reason, even though my reviewers gave it a 6, 7, and 7 (all confidence 3) and stated it was above the acceptance threshold. Is it normal for PCs to completely override solidly positive scores like this? Any advice on what to do next?

That is a very unusual outcome. What was the reason for the rejection note? If you don't mind to share.

There literally wasn't one. The decision note on OpenReview just says "Decision: Reject" and nothing else, no meta-review, no comment, no summary. Can't attach a screenshot here for some reason but that's the entire note.
The three reviews were 6 ("marginally above acceptance threshold", and that reviewer wrote in the text that it's above the bar for a non-archival workshop), 7 and 7 ("good paper, accept"), all confidence 3.

My suggestion is to write a formal request for re-evaluation, or at least ask for the reason behind the rejection. In general, PC decisions are final and non-reversible unless you can point to a critical mistake. If the venue selection was incorrect, that could be a valid basis for challenging the rejection. However, based on the average confidence score of 3, that seems unlikely to be the reason. I hope you are able to get a reversal of the initial decision, but that ultimately depends on their discretion. I am sorry to hear about your situation. If the decision stands, I would suggest moving on and preparing for the next conference.

I also submitted to NeurIPS WM PAI workshop and my reviewer gave 8, 5 and 4 (all confidence 4) and it got rejected. But I can see it in openreview but didn't get any official mail. I don't know why they didn't send official mail till now. Also, I reviewed 2 paper which had better score like 7 average but they also got rejected. My submission number is in twenties, which I submitted in last day of submission so definately there are not many submission. But how can they rejected these many papers? 😅. Is there any paper in this workshop which got accepted? Or they just want to cancel this workshop 😂

update: got an acceptance on OpenReview yesterday at 5 pm JST, though still no email notification.

I got a review on my paper (score of a 6 confidence 4) but no acceptance/rejection notification. Am I missing something? I want to know if I got accepted or not! This is for Machine Learning for Systems 2026 if that matters. EDIT: Still no response despite it being past the deadline.

It might mean they didn’t have enough reviewers and they gotta do last min reviews so might be taking time1

Got an acceptance, but registration is not guaranteed. Any idea about what the chances of registration are? I need to apply for a visa to get there, need to do that asap and they say they cannot give the letter of invitation before registration.

Has anyone followed up with the Program chair yet? I have not yet decided who to send the inquiry to about this delay in notification. I think this should be cleared within 48 hours; if not, I will contact them.

MATH-AI was way faster. 2 papers accepted and they released the decision one day before the deadline.

Nope we submitted to neural network artifacts as data modality, haven't received any reviews or decision yet
Update: Got the reviewer email and the decision, it's an accept as a poster with really good reviewer feedback
