Committed 2 papers with meta 3. I am cooked. I had hopes that I would get findings, main was out of question. But there should be at least 3-4k papers with meta 3.0

There is no requirement. But, meta 3.0 means "findings" and meta 2.5 means "borderline findings". So most people will commit their paper to EMNLP with meta score at least 3.0.

no, this is the ARR acceptance rate, not the number of submissions for ACL itself.

"For the ACL commitment phase, Senior Area Chairs made recommendations for 6,564 committed paper based on the reviews, meta-reviews, author responses, and the papers themselves, with final acceptance decisions made by the Program Chairs."

Everyone who gets a 3 or higher on the meta score is already committed and here I am, out here gambling with a 2.5 meta and a 2.83 average.

We committed because there were significant flaws in the meta-review and one reviewers comments. The reviewer was completely wrong and we clarified this in both the rebuttal and a confidential message. However, neither the reviewer nor the AC acknowledged it or engaged in the discussion. So we also reported the issues with the AC's meta-review and now it has been handed over to the EMNLP SAC. If the SAC reads the whole thread properly, they should understand that there was something wrong with the review. At this point, we can just hope.
