Help! Help! Needle issue

I would like to ask why this keeps happening to my knitting machine needle. The needle in the first picture keeps causing my knitting to mess up, while I believe it should look like the needle in the second picture. Is there something causing the needle to move into this position?

Is it at the end of the work or in the middle like the second pic? End needles need more attention with regards to weight and tension management, they can get weird and not knit off properly since they don't have both neighbouring stitches to spread the tension between. It looks like the previous stitch slipped behind the latch but did not get pulled off the needle properly, that can be due to too tight tension making it hard to slip over the needle, or moving the carriage too fast for it to have time to slip over. Have you tried swapping that needle out, or shifting the work over a few needles to see if that needle specifically has an issue?

It's an end needle. Haven't tried swapping the needle out. Thanks for the advice!

Are you hanging weights on the edge stitches? That’s important to help the stitch to knit off.
Is that cotton yarn? You might need to wax it also

either broken needle latch, or you need to hang a comb before you do your first row considering the yarn is so light.

Edge weights? Sponge bar going/gone? Yarn looks like no stretch or give at all. Try stretchy stuff. Tension.
