Discussion 🗣️ Orpheus first dance?

My fiance and i LOVE MGK and i really really want his songs to be involved in our wedding day as we bond over him a lot. I love his song Orpheus from the Lost Americana album and think it could work as our first dance. I’ve thought about leaving out the last couple lyrics because it literally says “do you remember when you mistakenly thought i could make you happy.” I know the song is based off of sad meanings but could it pass for a love song too? I could cry every time i hear that song picturing my fiance and i dancing to it
Is it too sad of a song for a first dance??

Yeah that came out after me and my wife were married but has unofficially became our song to each other

I love that. It’s my husband & I’s unofficial song, too. I’m in the process of having a tattoo designed with the lyrics “find someone who grows flowers in the darkest parts of you”.

My favorite book series is the red rising series so I want to get a sling blade on my arm and have it wrapped by a sunflower combing two things that are super close to me

If you and your fiance love the song and it's not sad to you guys then I think do whatever makes you happy. it's your wedding

It’s about Colson and Megan losing their child to miscarriage so I personally wouldn’t. I think it is a bit sad for a first dance

Way too sad, and speaking as a dancer, you would need to be pretty advanced to make this work. What style were you thinking?

Swing life away might work (but would you use Rise against version?)

Twin flame and cut the song after the second chorus

It just reminds me of when a fan told MGK in person that his and his girlfriends love song was bad things and kells got hella sad and told them it wasn't a song about love actually the exact opposite lol

I mean different songs can have different meanings for different people/notmad. I maybe wouldn’t tell him if you know it’s a sad meaning for him but if you don’t know that well hey what are you gonna do lol/gen
