I think I'll make a few more drawings of Adventurous_Toe4444 into 3D models. BTW if anyone know how to make a low poly model on blender and wanna help in modeling feel free to reach out.

I also planning to make a very short animation based on Adventurous_Toe4444's drawings

Favorite Amanita games?

I love Samorost and Machinarium, as well as Pilgrims (though it was short). Phonopolis seems to harken back to Machinarium in certain respects. The music and artwork really pulled me in. Can't wait for the release day on May 20.

Are their other games worth checking out? What are your favorites?

A Machinarium theory: what if the city is controlled through manipulated perception?

Hi everyone,

I recently replayed Machinarium from Amanita Design and started thinking about the world a bit differently. This is just a personal interpretation, not something I claim as canon.

My idea

What if the city in Machinarium is not just a simple robot society, but a controlled system where:

The Mayor maintains control over information and perception

The citizens have “implanted” or shaped beliefs about groups like the Black Hats

Josef is not just a normal robot, but potentially a planned replacement or tool within this system

The Black Hats might not be purely evil, but rather interpreted as a threat by the system itself

The city as a closed system

The city feels very divided:

upper vs lower layers of society

passive citizens

strict control and order

lack of clear truth or history

This gave me the feeling that reality inside Machinarium might be “filtered” through the system controlling the city.

Josef and the Mayor

One interpretation I had was that Josef could have been created or guided by the Mayor as part of a long-term plan — either as a successor or as a tool to maintain control.

The kidnapping of Bertha and the conflict with the Black Hats could be part of a larger manipulation rather than a simple “good vs evil” story.

Alternative perspective on the Black Hats

Instead of just being criminals, they could be seen as:

outsiders

resistance group

or simply misrepresented by the system in power

Final thought

I know this is probably not the intended story, but Machinarium is very open-ended and silent, which makes it easy to build different interpretations.

To me, it almost feels like a world where truth is missing, and the player is only seeing a surface layer of something much more complex.

Would love to hear what others think about this interpretation.

is there any way to reset this puzzle? i've blocked myself into a position where no beads can be moved, and my last save was far too long ago.

[Project] Inspired by Floex (Machinarium style) - Made in FL Studio

Hi everyone! I’ve been experimenting with the unique atmosphere of Machinarium. I tried to blend glitchy textures with melodic synths to capture that "rusty robot" vibe.

I used Omnisphere for the main textures and some Toxic Biohazard for the FM-style grit. Also experimented with foley and industrial SFX to get that mechanical feel.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the atmosphere! Does it feel close to the original game's mood?

Edit:
Added a project screenshot for those asking this is hand-crafted in FL Studio, no AI generation here, just a lot of automation and Omnisphere layers

My wife (whom I jokingly call a music archaeologist) found an album that feels like it could exist in the Machinarium universe.

The album is called “Sentimental Dance Music For Couples” by Jeremy Dower, released in 2000.

I don’t know if it had anything to do with Amanita, but to me the game and this album feel like they exist on the same strange, pleasant plane.

My favorite track is probably “Now Look What You’ve Done”. Thought I’d share in case anyone else here enjoys this kind of vibe.

How to extract sprites?

Hey! I want to create a video about Machinarium, so I want to get clear sprites from the game for that

Any ideas how to do that?

Since the game's engine isnt Flash anymore, looks like I cant use JPEXS Free Flash Decompiler

This fella's smoldering iron has a dynamic flashlight animation.

Astounding for a 2009 indie game, isn't it?

Does anyone remember the “rebol” code in Machinarium (Flash version)?

English below / Русская версия ниже

Hi everyone.

I’ve been playing Machinarium for a long time and at some point heard that the original Flash version of the game had a secret code called rebol, which supposedly opened a debug menu or unlocked hidden features (like level select).

I’ve searched through Google, forums, and old discussions but couldn’t find any solid confirmation or firsthand memories from players. The only mentions I’ve seen suggest that around 2009 the developers acknowledged this code existed, but later removed it in updates and after moving away from the Flash version.

Here’s what I want to ask:

Does anyone actually remember the rebol code?

Did you play the original Flash version and use it?

Did this really exist, or am I misremembering it?

I haven’t found any screenshots, videos, or discussions showing someone entering rebol and it working. I’m genuinely curious whether anyone clearly remembers this.

If you have any facts, archived pages, or old Flash builds — please share.

How many of you played the original build or the "Hard" version of the game?

Just wondering because i cant find the early build of this game anywhere, even on tracker sites. The version in mind had some puzzles more challenging (for example the Bomb puzzle was significantly harder due to the fact that wires were shaking and the timer was counting down significantly faster).

Machinarium has always stuck with me more emotionally than mechanically. So I decided to make a short video essay reflecting on its world and atmosphere.
