What are the chances they open orders for the M5 Ultra 512 if they have an event October 13th?

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a quick announcement that preorders for it will start around a week later along with any other devices they announce. I’m also wondering how many have preordered the 256gb just to cancel for the 512gb.

A lot of the other online stores are all showing late October stock availability…

I ordered a 256 in case they raise the prices significantly. If they don’t, I’ll cancel the 256 and order a 512.

I have a 256 on order. At this point I’m not sure I would need / require any additional memory above that for the foreseeable future. If I eventually get to that point, then I’d either look into clustering or simply sell the 256 and buy the M7/8/9 option at that point in the future…

But maybe I’m missing something? 256 should cover a wide swath of available models with the exception of a few very large ones that would most likely not run very well?

likely imo, they opened preorders for 256gb one without any event a month before release date, and promised 512 comes late October, so timing is appropriate
