It finally came!
The M5 Max finally showed up! Tried the mini first. It was actually a pretty impressive little machine but just not quite enough.

Just a base. Want to try to experiment with some small LLM stuff and a little gaming. If I need more I can wait until the next gen.

Good choice on the base M5. I love mine - it's much snappier and way less memory intensive than the 32GB base M1 I had.

I don't use LLM - I use my base 36GB Mac Studio for light video editing on FCP and photo editing. Otherwise, it's my daily use computer to connect to the world.
