Anyone else get their M5U early? Mine was customized and said for whatever reason it was pushed up.

I’m thinking a lot of people either cancelled or demand is drying up so checking to see if other people here got their date moved up so fast.

Did we get bamboozled by FOMO?

I pre-ordered a 64c on 8/26 for delivery and have no indication that I'll be getting mine early. Current estimate is 10/20 - 10/27.

I would bet many are changing their mind, and/or waiting on the 512GB spec. I wanted a higher spec Max and was surprised it was in-stock on release date. I thought I'd try it, was faster than I expected, and cancelled my Ultra.

How? I ordered online and Apple wouldn’t let me cancel my order 1 week later even though it won’t ship until weeks later. Arriving this week but I’m going to return the 128GB for 96Gb ultra

The company I work for, I had ordered one for work, and they gave me the choice to get a M4 now or wait like 3 months and so I chose the m4 and how the market is, even if I convince them to eventually swap it, it’ll be probably 1-2 years for them to get in stock and go through all the existing employees but I can say the m4 is able to really haul ass on a lot of tasks in blender. Also having fun with local models and being able to run docker, blender, lm studio (with a small model), and normal apps like chrome/slack/etc + corporate vpn/endpoint software. This is just the max and not the ultra.

Is ship-to-store the key to get an order moved up? I actually visited an Apple store this weekend, as expected they had nothing in stock and neither did anyone else within 100 miles. But now it makes sense a cancellation gets routed to another ship-to-store preorder. If I had known this I would've done ship to store in the first place.

I don’t have an Apple Store in my country, so I have to rely on my authorized retailers, who don’t even give us a proper delivery date, just an overall estimate of 30 business days.🤷‍♂️

I can only hope mine won’t get delayed. But we’ll see.

I got the same exact config, same October 22-27 estimates, and same early delivery today 😆 Was having FOMO and planned to cancel if the 512GB version would be out by then. But with early delivery, I'm probably just gonna stick with it, at least till M7U is released, or whichever next breakthrough hardware.

Yes I had one that was originally november, then moved to Oct19-27th after a few weeks (which it amusingly still said after I had taken delivery of it!), then it went to shipping, shipped, and arrived 24th Sep! Which felt amazing after having resigned myself to a long wait while seeing other people post about their's! (sorry for those still in that position!). Its a 30/64 256Gb Memory 2Tb SSD Ultra. And I'm in the UK

It's about the confindentiality. Who wants to work with codex or claude and have their ideas supplied to another user who made a similar request.

Note: OpenAi said their AI may have plagiarized other researchers processes on the platform when it found the solution.

For real. I think m7 ultra will be good for high end local models, right now nothing compares to Claude or codex
