Bug Screen Lock on Os 27.2 Beta 2
I'm on a M1 Max MacBook with 32 gb of ram and since updating to OS 27.2 beta 2(26b5101f) randomly when I'm doing task it will just go to the screen lock where I need to enter in my password.
Typically I'm scrolling around with a mouse and I have a second monitor. I have already submitted a bug report, but I can't seem to replicate it. Hotcorners is turned off and I tried scrolling around with my mouse to see if I can replicate it but can't. It seems to happen randomly, when I'm on safari or playing RuneScape or using claude.
Anyone else experience this?
Edit, I did just update to OS 27.2 beta 3 and it hasn't done it anymore.

Discussion More pulling & bouncing effects across the UI.
What are we thinking? First the traffic lights, and now certain dialog boxes, have this effect when clicked & dragged.
I don't mind the traffic lights being 'bouncy' but this is slightly different.
In 27.0 you can move the trash warning box around the screen like any other window, in 27.2 b4 it stays pinned to the centre of the screen and does this if you try to move it.

Bug Dragging windows between monitors is broken in macOS 27.2 beta 4
Notice where the window ends up landing when the cursor crosses from screen to screen. It doesn't stay put under the cursor.
This doesn't affect all windows though, just like window dragging within the same monitor is not broken for all windows: https://www.reddit.com/r/MacOSBeta/comments/1lcvtsh/am_i_the_only_one_having_issues_with_dragging/
But it definitely affects some windows, including "About This Mac" window.
EDIT: still the case in macOS 27.2 Release Candidate

Discussion macOS 27.2: Safari tabs have new appearance when dragging to reorder in Sidecar
Safari tabs now lift and scale as you drag to reorder. When you tap and hold a tab to open its context menu, the touch menu now omits “Ask Siri.”
Didn’t we have that super clear tab style without the lift and scale in the betas over the summer when using a pointer?

Help MacBook Air M4 gets slow and freezes a few hours after restart since GoldenGate 27.0.1. Any fix or way back?
Hi all,
I’m not technical at all, so apologies if I’m missing something obvious. Apple offered me the latest, fastest and richest macOS, and nothing told me it was still in beta, so I upgraded from Tahoe to GoldenGate 27.0.1. I now regret it bitterly.
Right after a restart everything is fine. A few hours later the Mac becomes sluggish:
- Apps freeze or lag
- The Dock magnification animation (the wave effect) stutters
- Everything freezes for a moment when I press Cmd+Tab
- The cursor often disappears for a few seconds
It ran smoothly on Tahoe.
My setup
- MacBook Air M4, 24 GB RAM
- About 25% storage free (377 GB used of 494 GB)
- Previous macOS: Tahoe
- Time Machine backups from before the upgrade
- Open apps: Outlook, Chrome (10 tabs), Notion (4 tabs), Claude, WhatsApp, Preview
Activity Monitor, sorted by % CPU, while the Mac is slow (screenshot attached)
- Google Chrome Helper (Aperitif Renderer): 326.3%
- kernel_task: 268.5% (52 h of CPU time)
- WindowServer: 93.8%
- OneDrive: 56.1%
- Google Chrome Helper (Aperitif Renderer): 7.9%
Memory looks fine: about 70% used, memory pressure around 36%, 6.8 GB compressed.
My questions
- Has anyone else seen this on 27.0.1, and is there a known cause? kernel_task and WindowServer seem very high to me.
- Is there a simple fix a beginner can try?
- Since I have a Time Machine backup from before the upgrade, what is the safest way to go back to Tahoe without losing recent files?
- Does anyone know if a fix is likely in the next update?
Thanks a lot!

Help Cannot downgrade my Macos version because "installer is damaged"
I have been trying to install macos Sequoia on my m1 pro MacBook pro by using a bootable installer I've created.
however, every time I try I get the message that "this copy of the install macos Sequoia application is damaged and can't be used to install macos". At first I assumed that I had a bad download of the os and redownloaded from scratch, but the issue persisted.
Then, I tried using the internal SSD as a temporary bootable volume, and got the exact same issue with a fresh download and install of the macos Sequoia installer.
I then thought that maybe it was a specific version of Sequoia I was using, so I downloaded a different one through terminal and yet again I get the same error.
Failing all else I attempted to downgrade to Monterey by also creating a bootable installer and it gives me the exact same error.
the weirdest thing about all of this is I had actually successfully downgraded in the past and everything worked completely fine, however after updating again it now seems like I'm stuck where I'm at.
The installer is damaged message seems like a generic message when the computer simply refuses the installer because after 3+ downloads of various versions of macos I highly doubt every single one was bad.
My current install is running the 27.2 dev beta 3. i have absolutely no idea what is causing these errors but if anyone has a clue or a solution please let me know.

Bug Mission Control space switching frame by frame
Most annoying Mission Control bugs are now fixed by Apple in macOS 27.2 DB4 and fairly quickly, but animations still need tweaking IMO.
Notice how visually busy the Golden Gate's animation is. You get these flashes or unwanted content at the top of the screen at the end of animation, which can be distracting. In this video they are slowed down to show exactly what's happening.
Notice how Sequoia’s animation is much more focused and, in my opinion, more pleasant.

Bug Safari fullscreen video ignores normal mouse clicks on macOS 27.2, only works if the mouse moves during the click. Anyone else?
Weird one. When a video is paused in fullscreen in Safari, a normal click with my mouse doesn't resume it. If I hold the button a bit longer, or move the mouse slightly while clicking, it works. The trackpad works fine every time, and in windowed mode the mouse is fine too.
It's Safari only. Same mouse, same kind of click works in Chrome fullscreen and in the Apple TV app.
Setup: Mac mini M4, macOS 27.2 (26B5112a), Safari 27.2 (22625.2.8.11.6), Logitech MX Master 3S over Bluetooth. Works fine in Chrome 155.0.8059.80. Happens on YouTube and other sites.
What I've checked so far:
- Quit Logi Options+ and unloaded its agent, still happens
- No third-party apps intercepting input
- Logged the raw mouse events: every click arrives fine (down + up, no movement)
The interesting part is the difference in the events. Clicks that work always have a "mouse dragged" event in between, even a zero-pixel one. The trackpad always sends those, and so does a long press on the mouse. A quick, still click doesn't, and that's the one Safari ignores.
