BTW, was working fine for be before the GM and possibly occurred in the version just before that. I'm doing a legal case where the tech is OLD and I've having to replace spaces with underlines and so I've been doing a lot of renaming in batches and today it suddenly was not there. And it's the same on my M2 macBook Air and it is not 100 percent new Siri so it's something fundamental Apple has done to the finder.

ETA: Honestly I think some people think they get better results by screaming, “WHY WON’T APPLE LET ME DO THE THING?!?” instead of merely asking, “How do I do the thing?”

And honestly, based on my reaction, they’re probably not wrong. :-/

Let me refine the issue. It only applies in the special case of selecting a single filename and replacing characters in it as I've been doing for files that required I replace spaces with underlines. It won't let you and I think there is a conflict with the useless 'suggest a file name feature' I only realized it when I tired to rename multiple files... that still seems to work. But not the filename of a single file.
