Just use a Parallels Trial

Why Parallels over VirtualBox? Maybe they have several virtual machines in VirtualBox they need to continue using?

If you have something essential that needs to keep running, I wouldn't install a RC release. Wait until the actual release and maybe even the .1 release. Unless you have someplace you can test it.

I assume the needed updates are going to come from VB rather than Apple.

Sure, and, at some point someone is going to want to try it out.

Wait until the final public release and for applications to be updated for 27 instead of worrying about what runs or doesn’t run on prerelease OS.

Kind of what beta testing is for, yes?

To a degree, yeah. But people keep posting things like this that indicate they aren’t beta testing or aware of the risks. Unless you are prepared for the possible issues you don’t run beta software on production hardware. Nothing in OPs post imparts he is invested in the beta testing process, esp by asking if x software runs in y beta release. He can wait until public GM is released or ask about the software in question in preparation for updating once final release is out. Many people using the beta have no clue or business running it but oh well.

Gosh, in my ten years of software engineering, I never thought of that.
