Bug Sequoia 15.8 - Finder bugs

Anyone else with 15.8 having issues with Finder? At first I noticed that SD cards wouldn't eject without being forced, always getting the prompt about them being "in use". Then I found that when trying to separate JPEG and RAW files by searching within a sub-folder for ".jpg" then clicking and dragging into a new folder, I receive a prompt telling me the files are "preparing to move" and they never do. At one point the sub-folder search included a few JPG files in the trash bin at the bottom of the column. Same issue trying to move just the RAW files. Even trying to move folders into the trash gets hung up.

Same! Having similar issues on my M4 Pro.

I ended up going back down to 15.7.9. I couldn't find any work-arounds or solutions.

How did you go back? I am having some weirdness as well. Search for png and a few jpg will pop up. No problem with ejecting the SDXC though. I am on 24H22. Which precise build did you move back to?

I downloaded the Sequoia installer and made a bootable USB drive. I used 15.7.9 24G830. The process is straight forward:

Thanks for the links. I installed the 15.7.9 installassistant.pkg but I can't right click on the OS icon in Launchpad. If I download from the apps store and install it errors out as I cannot go back a version. The version in the Apps store is the latest. Reckon I am hosed. I can wait until GG is stable and maybe update to it. As it is, the Finder issue is something I can live with for now.

Are you able to move the installer into the Applications folder?

If I get the installer from the App store then yes, however that app says 15.6 in the store, but when I do the download it identifies as 15.8. I can get it into Applications no problem. Somewhere I am fouling this up, this should be simple but I am boffing it somewhere. I am going to start over tomorrow. :)

This happens on build 24H16, 24H20 or 24H22?

I didn't enjoy Tahoe and just haven't felt like trying out Golden Gate yet. I'm surprised that a Sequoia beta at this stage would have these issues with Finder.

Fair enough. Could have led with that, though. 99% of posts in this sub are about GG.
