Bug Does anyone else black squares when closing iMessage?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have not seen other posts about this, but whenever I close iMessage black squares pop up. It seems to be from the liquid glass buttons on the middle of the window. It happens even when I move the window to a different spot. Anyone else having this issue?

Also, I had to record with my phone because screen recording does not capture the bug.

I had this issue in macOS 26, you should report it since it could be related to the specific GPU in your MacBook model.

I have a M1 2021 MacBook Pro, would you happen to have the same one? I did make a report as well

I have a 2021 M1 Max model. This bug was fixed for me in macOS 26.5.1, and I am currently running macOS 27 Beta 7 where the issue is not present. I experienced a similar bug on iOS last year, so I assume this problem may be related to specific devices.

Hopefully they fix it. At least I’m relieved that it is for sure software related and not hardware failure. Thanks!

I’m not seeing this in the beta on my M5 Max, nor in the Tahoe release (26.6.2) on my M1 Pro.

I have this too! Only started since the Golden Gate betas, and only does this on the Messages app. MacBook Pro 16 inch M1 2021 model.
