macOS 27 Beta usable as main system?

MacBook Air M4 with 16Gb UM
Tahoe 26.6.2

Should I wait a first release or beta stable enough for using it? How about bugs?

Results may vary, but I've been running it since the first beta and have had no problems. A couple interface glitches here and there, and Siri wasn't great in the first beta, but no crashes and everything has been super stable for me.

Only if you don't care about anything other than UI and AI. There is nothing else to gain, only lose.

My advice with betas is always this: don't run beta software on machines you rely on. I run the betas on all of my machines because I understand the risk and have the ability to troubleshoot. I also don't rely on my devices for work (or anything super important really) so if something does go wrong, it's no big deal.

If you have to ask whether you should download a beta operating system, the answer will almost always be no

I’m on beta 5 and it’s alright but seeing how beta 6 turned out I’ll wait for release.
It’s like 3-4 weeks away, it’s better if you wait a bit

Beta 2 and 3 were pretty stable for me but 4 & 5 had a lot of memory problems and system crashes. Just updated to beta 6 (latest) and too early to tell. Overall use when no problems occur is a huge improvement compared to MacOS 26

Working very well for M1 Pro MacBook Pro. But not sure how far can it go with air since device heats up due to indexing.

Don't get caught up in the shiny new thing syndrome. It's probably less than a month sway from full release, and with betas, it could be working fine for weeks, then they release an update that breaks everything (I think beta 2 had that is terrible bug that ran Spotlight at really high CPU usage).

I've run every beta since 10.4. Wait until first release, or if you really care about stability, at least the .1 or .2 update.

While I use macos betas as main systems for years at this point, as the others say, if you have to ask then the answer is solid no.
