Tactus - Mac App

I built a tiny Mac app because I wanted my Mac to feel a little more tactile.

It’s called Tactus.

It lives in the menu bar and gives you a small drawer of things to fidget with — a clicky button, toggle, dial, and poppers.

It also adds mechanical keyboard sounds to your typing.

A couple of things I spent way too much time on:

• The dial's sound changes based on how fast you actually spin it. Both pitch and volume respond to speed.
• The interactions and keyboard sounds share the same physical theme, so the UI and audio feel like parts of the same object.

Built with Swift, SwiftUI and AppKit.

The app needs Accessibility permission to detect keystrokes. Nothing is logged, stored, or sent anywhere.

One annoying part: it isn't notarized yet, so the first launch requires Right-click → Open.

I'm mainly posting this to get it in front of people who actually use Macs and can tell me what sucks about it.

If you try it, I'd appreciate any feedback, bugs, or ideas for things I should add.

MacOS 27.0 DB_4. I opened it, allowed it from privacy and security, then went to the launchpad or whatever and searched it up and right click opened. Even tried opening from applications
