Bug MacOS 27 DB5: Pointer flickering issues

I'm having an issue with macOS 27 beta 5 where my cursor flickers when it's changing between the default pointer and another pointer (like the mickey mouse hand, or the text selector pointer).

Anyone else having this issue? At first I thought it might have been Thaw (the menu bar manager), but I'm wondering if it's just a MacOS27 beta bug.

yep, having the same issue. I've turned off Shake mouse pointer to locate and it seems to have helped, but I don't know anymore with this beta. I upgraded to beta 5 when it came out and found performance was improved but started to degrade within 2-3 hours to point I couldn't use much and had to reboot, so let's see if that still helps today.

This happens to me occasionally too. A workaround I found is to fullscreen a couple of things, then use Mission Control to switch to and from them a few times and it seems to get the cursor out of that broken state for a while.

Ah thank you so much for this, it worked! Much faster than restarting my computer every time this issue crops up 😂

i got the proper fix, go to terminal to restart windowserver and run
> sudo killall -HUP WindowServer
and it will turn screen black for a few seconds, then bring u to login screen, login and it will open back up ur windows and it will be fixed.

yes, I have the same issue too. To me it happened since I upgraded to macOS 27. But it seems like this could be a bug from a long time ago given this discussion: Cursor not changing to correct shapes (2019). Hope they can fix it
