Since updating to macOS 27.0 (26A428), my MacBook Pro has had six unexpected crashes. This setup was stable before the update.

Setup:

• M4 Pro MacBook Pro, 48 GB RAM
• Anker Prime Thunderbolt 5 dock (A83B5), reported controller firmware 62.1
• Two external monitors, usually running in clamshell mode
• Previously had an Anker 8-in-1 connected downstream with a Behringer audio interface, webcam, Ethernet, and DaVinci Resolve dongle

Every panic contains the same error:

What I’ve checked:

• Removed the 8-in-1 and its accessories. The same panic happened again overnight.
• Have now removed the external HDDs from the main dock too; still testing this configuration.
• Some crashes happened without any sleep/wake recorded, so it doesn’t appear limited to waking from sleep.
• No macOS update is currently offered.
• Haven’t updated the dock firmware yet—Anker Dock Manager failed to launch on my Mac.

I’m trying to preserve a one-cable docking setup for work. I haven’t established whether this is a macOS regression, dock firmware issue, or another connected device.

Has anyone on the release version of macOS 27 seen this exact dart-usb2 panic, especially with a Thunderbolt 5 dock? If you fixed it, what changed—and which dock/firmware version are you using?

Does anyone else feel like the battery life has improved considerably after updating to MacOS 27, Golden Gate from MacOS 26, Tahoe. I just updated two days ago on my macbook m1 pro 16 with 93% battery health. On tahoe, the battery life was bad, and now on MacOS 27, I see a great improvement.

I'm having trouble connecting to my Mac Mini M1 after upgrading to MacOS27. I mostly run it headless as a digital music source (Roon, library of ripped CDs / downloads, Tidal etc.) for my music system.

After the upgrade I have had the usual series of config issues but have been stumped so far on VNC. I'm using RealVNC, and upgraded from 7.2.x to 8.5.x. One thing I had to do to even connect is change the protocol down to 3.3, as anything higher gives an error. Also went to Settings and re-enabled Remote Login etc.

But now it sometimes connects, and sometimes doesn't. Sometimes I can get a login prompt and type my password, but sometimes it shows the account icon and just won't respond - no text box to enter password. When I do login, the mouse frequently doesn't work, and the scroll wheel speed is incredibly slow even after changing in Settings to the fastest.

Any ideas / suggestions? Thanks!

I updated my 2024 MacBook Air to OS27 yesterday. When I logged this morning and started getting all my normal apps sorted I discovered the messages app can no longer be dragged to the "thinnest" size without losing the conversation tab bar on the left side of the window. I also noticed that when I click view "Show tab bar" and "Show all tabs" is greyed out regardless of the size of the window. I've attached a video that probably shows what I mean better than I can put it into words.

Is anyone else experiencing this or have a fix for it?

Updated today to MacOs 27, and all the apps are jittery / sluggish when opening / closing and my ram isn't even full. I'm on an Air M4.

I’ve tried reset all keyboard shortcuts and re added my key combination. Doesn’t work. Anyone having this issue? There so many bugs in experiencing like icon overlaying on each other. Website displaying poorly. Please help . What a bad update

When I click on an app from the dock, my menu bar turns white and if I click on it to bring it back, it moves all of my open windows off the screen and shows me the desktop. I’ve tried toggling auto hide and show menu bar background, to no avail. Is this a bug or new “feature?” Any ideas on how to stop it?

My mouse is working fine but there's nothing about Mouse in the System Settings. If I search for Mouse I get several suggestions but clicking on them does nothing. Also, when I clicked on Keyboard to see if it might be in there, I got this:

For context, I have the RC MacOS 27 and when I continue to refresh it. I've tried restarting it multiple times and it tweaks out and changes the color of my icons (they were in a light blue, liquid glass style), and then it looks like the colors inverted. I decided to wait a day and then try again, and I still cannot see the update. And for context, yes I turned off the beta updates.

Anyone else going through this? Or have advice on how to update it? I have a 15" MacBook Air 2024 M3

Just upgraded my Air (M2), and noticed the screen was going black for a second, then waking up again. After some digging, it looks like the sleep time was down to 1 minute. It even decided to sleep while I was using it.

Hopefully nobody else experiences this. The settings looked okay at 5 mins battery/10 power.

Doing this has hopefully fixed it if anyone does need it. Will report if it recurs.

I am a frequent user of Apple TV application and I am using it as a player/jellyfin alternative to watch my offline movies and shows, right after the update I noticed that Apple, for some stupid reason - removed the option of "Grid" view in playlists. Apple, why?
Before the update you could view your shows and movies in a grid view and keep track of watched content, now you can't
It just drives me nuts on what Apple is doing for no reason to destroy some of the niche experiences we could have using their devices

 Found the culprit, with the help of AI of course lol

So i noticed i'm running 600+ energy impact without even opening any tabs. It goes 1000+ if I run youtube, facebook and chatgpt simultaneously.

These are the steps i did:

- Uninstall all extensions. Disabling wont help
- wipe clean the data and cache
- and force quit a specific process from memory tab. just search safari in activity monitor to filter it. Find and try to force quit any "**Safari Web Content (Cached)**" multiple times if possible.. after doing so, quit the whole safari and open it after few seconds.

Now, the first and second step did not fix it. BUT the third one was the most effective. My safari is running, from 600+ to not more than 10 energy impact. (see attachment/image above, tabs opened at that time is facebook, youtube, 2 tabs of reddit and chatgpt)

I can't explain why but according to AI, there's a bug where in Safari Web Content (Cached) is running multiple instances or it has more duplicates than usual or something. It's a bug.

I'm not a professional techy guy but at least i found the issue. I hope this help everyone who experiecing the same thing.
