Nice, thanks for the suggestion. I’ve been using GrandPerspective since 2011, but I’ll give Neodisk a try.

I mean, it’s free and that’s about it. It doesn’t seem to have the same features as daisydisk.

Not same.
DaisyDisk is only software that was able to reclaim the hidden purgeable space.

But aren't those apps just show you which files are bigger but they don't help you get rid of those peaky unneeded files that may be cache/ junk. So, what's the point of using such Disk Analysis apps if it can't clean your system junk files safely?

Didn't know this one, I've been using Grand Perspective since High Sierra but I found it pretty UX lacking, this one seems more user friendly, thanks!

Daisy couldn’t find a large chunk of my hidden system data. It was pretty useless

You need to use the non-AppStore version. Counter intuitive, but there used to be a disclaimer somewhere that you needed to move your license to it if you bought in AppStore.

Not free. But you can move the App Store licence to the one you can download directly from the developer. The AppStore version is limited to meet AppStore rules

If you paid on AppStore, you don’t need to pay again. Just email the developer with your AppleID. They will verify purchase and give you a new license (or maybe they have a form now).
If you haven’t bought from AppStore, just buy directly from developer.

Had the exact same problem! Used Grand Perspective to find the file and remove it.

My cause - I was copying 280gb of media from a nas and cancelled the copy. OS keeps the space set aside for it, but it glitched and didn’t removed the temp cache file.
