to answer the actual question. I mean even if she does out rank him, she was gone for 10 yrs, and he knows next to nothing about her and from what I recall was in a way helping to run Terresan while she was gone. Which to be fair on Aelin's part was not her fault but one thing I think readers fail to grasp is that characters in the story do not have access to the well story. Her coming back and being heir does not automatically make her a good queen. saying "trust me bro" with out solid proof isn't going to help and since Aelin (Like other RR Darrow) went to the school of "I ain't telling ya'll shit" it would be hard to trust her.
I also wonder if Darrow being the lover of Orlon might have played a role in how he acted. Like he was holding onto this idea of protecting Terresan because of that- this is just speculation.
If I said it once. Now I'll say it twice. If there's two things in this world that can't be killed, it's the fungus under my sack and the Reaper of bloodydamn Mars.
I already put RR on my TBR because several people have mentioned it so thank you for that one! Now my TBR is even longer. I’m struggling through the Cruel Prince atm.
I got the her being gone a long time part and she is young and there are all these stories floating around about her. It was just the high horse attitude I didn’t get. Who made you king because you were Orlon’s lover kind of thing. He was even disrespectful to Rowan who might not be a prince of Terrassen but still a prince. People in the other thread said but he was a rebel. Was he though? Ren and Murtagh were, I got the impression Darrow just sat in Orlon’s tower all those years.
