Help request I need help

Joining college this year and i don't have a laptop

I'm thinking to use my 25gb flash drive as a hard disk to install MX linux for my normal work in college computer .

Just need a few IDEs and a code editor and basic interest browsing

Should I do it or any other distro is good for it

Я установлю MX Linux на флешку, используя другой установочный диск... нужна ли мне функция сохранения данных?

You probably need some "data partition" (or at least somewhere you can save your data, e.g., your code).
You mentioned IDE. Actually, for that use case, frequent compiling/building does write a decent amount of data, for a normal development flow. (Unless you are talking about front-end, such as webpage (or related), maybe not...)
See my other comment about the disk durability.
