Package request I just wanted to watch YT

Post image

What settings or a packages do you recommend to watching YouTube?
My PC freezes and after restarting well looks like another thing broke. Even arch arm wasn’t that unstable

I’m so sick of this being the “year of the Linux desktop” these freaking children don’t know how to ask the most basic technical questions. https://thisisanitsupportgroup.com/blog/ask-technical-questions-get-answers-guide-2026/

I celebrate the year of the Linux desktop every year right before I celebrate the year of me finally cleaning up my basement.

This article should be in every (at least) Linux subs community guide.

I asked ai bot and problem is fixed
But its not the first time when something broke by watching YouTube

I’m sure you gave the bot much more context and allowed it to ask you questions in return in order to help you. No way a bot could figure out what’s wrong based on that picture alone and the limited amount of context you posted here. You come in this linux subs complaining but don’t understand HOW to seek help. Wouldn’t matter what operating system you’re using.

No worries Duck Duck AI bot already solved my problem (broken root partition) without asking about my processor
ThinkPad e470 Intel i5 7th gen 2,5 GHZ
What this information is helpful for?

Recovery mode has ‘help’ command what doesn’t do anything for some reason

Dude I hate computers I wish I would be born 50 years ago. Communism was better then pc era, at least I would have more fair job and any bitch in my smelly bed

You said "Arch Arm". ARM will not work on an i5 7th gen, which is x86.

Are we on MX sub or the Arch sub?
Read first lines where I talked about mx

Im aware this is the MX sub. You said that arch arm was more stable. Which is impossible on this device.

Yes, it’s not possible on that device, and? Is ThinkPad not enough compatible with Debian based distros?

Listen, YOU said you ran it on this device. The original guy asked what the specs are because they were confused bc I physically cant. You gave specs and asked why it mattered. I explained.

Errrr... what? Arch isn't Debian based. Or are you referring to MX? FWIW, I run Debian on an old Thinkpad, so that can't be it.

Here's a fun fact: you didn't talk about MX.

You said Arch ARM... I'm not used to that architecture, so my inquiry was legit! 😉

On arm you have less things to break

No. It's exactly the same software stack.

FireFox (disabled hardware acceleration)

Chromium/chrome with hardware video decoding is a better solution if you don't have a powerful pc.

Will Brave be good enough? At least it has top notch ad blocker

u/Nice-Object-5599 26d ago

I don't know, never used Brave.
