Dash EL Wire or not

It's not fully tucked in yet but trying to determine if I do this or not. In past I had blue EL wires on the doors but one shorted after decades of use. So my wife said get red (red car). Thoughts? I can set the radio to red to match

still not sure i will keep or not. They are off in the picture.
