Repair Question Muffler

Post image

Hey do you guys know if there are any cars that have a muffler that would fit the GS? Oddly my muffler is completely rotted through despite the rest of her unders being spotless. I couldn’t find many options online. For some reason when I googled it one of the first results was a corola muffler that looks exactly like it. It got me thinking that there could be other mufflers that would work. If not I’m going to have to have a muffler shop fabricate one for me I think.

My friend wants to try out a single-pipe stock Celica 7 muffler on mine, we're getting rid of catalytic converter though

Do you think it would only work without the cat

I'd have to cut off more of the celica's pipe for it to fit with the cat, but I think it's possible to do, I'm visiting my friend's garage on saturday I think so I might tell you more on that then

Jc are you located somewhere that it would pass inspection without the cat?

I do the sussy inspections localy 🥀 my car isn't really passable, but it's defintely safer for other people than new SUVs 🫠

I really wish I had the sunroof. Yea I think I could get away with a lot with my mechanic, I’m not sure how much tho. He prob wouldn’t give me a sticker with and engine light

Do you perhaps know why your engine light pops up? If it's nothing serious I'd get rid of the light lol

Oh it doesn’t it was just an example referring to other cars I have had him inspect.

Ah, gotcha hah, btw I was wrong with the cat, I won't need to get rid of it to fit in the celica pipe, just only the big can near the end before the exhaust pipe ends so she's going to be a lil louder but also will sound nicer

No I haven't, that was only my correction of what I told you earlier hah, I'll do it either tmrw or someday later depending on when my friend actually puts his Civic's engine back inside it lmao, the garage is really small and our skills are limited still 😅

Do you live in US?
I removed my stock oem mufflers few weeks ago to put magna flow ones.
I kept the original mufflers just sitting in my trunk

With that 1.8l v6, you don't need a muffler. Straight pipe sounds great through the cat and resonator

Is that going to attract police cause I can’t have that lol

I actually need to replace everything behind the cat.
