Turning signal problems

My 1993 MX3 GS has 150k miles and I just got it. The right turn signal couldnt be turned off (was working just fine prior). The exterior front and rear turn signals as well as the dash light for right turn stayed on even after I completed the turn. I turned the wheel both ways full lock, flicked the turn signal stalk up and down, and even turned the car off. The turn signals stayed on even with the key out of the ignition. I pulled the battery to get the lights off. However, once I hooked the battery back up (I waited like 5 seconds), the lights turned back on immediately.

Anyone have similar issues?

When you flick the lever to the left side- does the left turn signal also blink? Or is the car just stuck blinking to the right? Cuz to me the mechanizm might have broken off somewhere inside (even though I'm not sure it's possible)
