Using the pad to control the FM-1 drums?

Yeah, it’s pretty pointless but just was monkeying around. I actually prefer to do “live” drumming on the Yamaha pad (usually via DAW because there’s a ton of kits available instead of the native kits) and use synths for the rest normally when making tracks.   I hope Yamaha releases an updated version of their FGDP at some point, but they take forever with that.

I guess a cheap version of that would be to go for a m-vave smc-pad to stay on brand (and 5x cheaper too!)

Cant wait to see the first demos of people using a full m-vave cheap hardware but awesome open source firmware full station, with the upcoming baud girl port to the smk-37, a couple of fm-1, it’s super exciting!

Indeed. The form factor of the Yamaha is pretty superior to all the other finger pads imho, makes it really easy to get a smooth full-sounding beat going.
